She received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience.
Her significant accomplishments include being president of the Minot FFA Chapter, competing on two national FFA teams, serving as chairman of PALS (a mentoring program that matches high school agriculture students with elementary school students) and participating on the crops team for three years and on the meats evaluation team for two years.
Tracey Hartwig, Jeff Ball and Lance Van Berkom were her agricultural education instructors at Minot High School.
