Emma Mai, 94, Garrison, ND, formerly of Golden Valley, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, in a Garrison nursing home. Funeral services will be held today, May 1, at 2 p.m. at the Benedictine Living Center in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.
Emma was born July 31, 1913, to Henry and Elizabeth (Meyer) Wagner in Golden Valley, ND, where she was raised and educated. She married Ervin Mai in Stanton, ND, in 1935. Emma was a wonderful homemaker. She did all of the little things herself, such as sewing, gardening, baking and cooking. Because of ill health, Emma spent the better part of her life in other people’s care.
Emma is survived by: four sons, Elder (Elna) Mai, Garrison, James (Marcia) Mai, Tempe, AZ, Jerry (LaRue) Mai, Bismarck, ND, Myron Mai, Garrison; one daughter, Carol (Rodney) Welke, Minot, ND; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; parents; and nine siblings.
