Marlys L. Zimmer returned to her heavenly father on April 13, 2008, peacefully.
Marlys was born March 5, 1933, in Minot, North Dakota, to Chauncey O. Hendershot and Inga L. Stolpestad. Marlys is the second of seven brothers and sisters, Jerry, Dick, Dee, June, Eva and Donnie. Marlys was married to and preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dwayne F. Zimmer. Marlys has three children, Gary W. Zimmer of Melbourne, Florida, Will D. Zimmer of Murray, Utah, and Michelle F. Jones of West Jordan, Utah. Marlys has 10 grandchildren who were her pride and joy; Jennifer Zimmer, Jordan Zimmer, Sarah Zimmer, Nicole Zimmer, Austin Zimmer, Zachary Zimmer, Alexis Zimmer, Madison Jones, Jillian Reynolds and Chance Jones.
This earth shone brighter due to her presence and love she gave to those whose lives she touched. Marlys has spent the past 11 years in Mesa, AZ, with her constant companion, Robert “Bob” Fredriksen, whom she loved dearly.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Mortuary Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ. Flowers will be accepted at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Mesa.
