In response to the recent firing of Minot City Attorney, Colleeen Auer, this petition is meant to give a voice to concerned community members who want to see more progress in Flood Recovery & Prevention in the Souris River Valley.

Colleen Auer was fired for responding to the people of this community who want to see "Zombie Homes" GONE or RESTORED. City Manager Cindy Hemphill called it 'insubordination'. We call it progress.

You will know when they get serious about flood control. An excavator will begin widening the river channel on the downstream side of the west bypass. No zombie houses in the way of the work all the way to 16th street west. No excuses.

A shameful last minute move with spare change to pacify a routy crowd. Give me an event center and give me lutefisk or i will get my hip replaced in Rochester. I want a curvy river channel--you know, one that floods now and then. We r waffling now. The dams r not dry and oh canada cannot be trusted to manage the water. We r 40 plus years of sitting ducks.

Well Ronaldo 75 percent of the flood victims did, and we now must put up with abandoned homes, or homes were the owners are to lazy to fix up. That is why.

What the City has to find $74,000 for cleanup. What happened to the 1/2 cent tax that we voted on to be put towards flood control? And the Best yet, according to Hud.Gov Minot has received 2 Grants B-13-MS-38-0001 $35,056,000 and B-12-MT-38-0001 $67,575,064 that is 102,631,960 Million Dollars Minot has been given for 2011 flood recovery. Were has the Money Gone? Maybe they should pull the 2 plus Million for Parking Garages that has ZERO to do with the 2011 flood. And plow those homes down. If you read the HUD website it spells out what the Money will be spent on. And I didn't see Parking Garage.
