Who the*****does Hemphill think she is. It sure seems to me Ms. Auer was doing a Great job, she sure was helping with the Zombie Homes. Maybe that was what the problem was, she helped the people. We the citizens are for Ms. Auer.

KXNews:

(Colleen Auer) "So of course the first thing I did was ask, what's the basis, why are you firing me? And she paused a bit and then she said insubordination, basically not taking direction from the interim city manager, her. And I said who made the decision, she said the city council."

But there is a problem - if in fact Hemphill said the city council decided to fire Auer, and the former city attorney says the chief of police witnessed the statement, there would had to have been an illegal, unpublicized council meeting.

There is no such thing as a city government, or any government for that matter, doing ANYTHING illegal, including holding 'secret' meetings....but I have known of many Republic-run governments doing illegalities....

The fact is now, Hemphill should be but on leave without pay till this matter is cleared up. If she was wrong, then be fired, IF INNOCENT, then pay her for lost wages. This should be all settled within in a week. Simple question, did she lie and the power go to her head? A simple Yes or No question.....We await the answer!!!

The*****is about to hit the fan and the City Of Minot is going to be in big trouble. In the end I hope that Cindy Hemphill goes to jail and some city official as well. The was ******* stupid on having two police officers to escort here out. Hemphill was dumb to do that. I know people and they told me that Hemphill may need a lawyer real soon to keep here out of jail. There is Corruption in City Hall and the crap is hitting the fan. Like I said before the city of Minot will always hire a inside person never a outside because they can control the person that way better.

There is also trouble in the City of Riverdale as well they have 3 Attorneys that have resigned in the past 2 years. The city council of Riverdale they are the most corrupt city council ever. I talked with people from that town and they told me that town is like East Berlin. People move there and with they find out what the city is like they move out fast. They have a open position in the council for many years no one wants it. One person moved to the town and got on the council but got off when he found out how the council works and he left in a week and had his house for sale. The most interesting thing is if someone in the city gets a speeding ticket or any citation and if when the city see's the name if they are on there side they make the ticket vanish. If your a person the city doesn't know you have to pay. They have even try to bill people twice.

What's going on in Minot. It seems that if the city counsel can't find a friend or relative to fill the positions that the position only gets filled temporarily if at all. an example is the position for city manager, there were 3 finalist and one turned the position down, what happened to the other two. This whole mess smells of corruption.

Ms. Auer must not have kissed the feet of Ms. Golden Girl (Ms. Hemphill). Sounds like City Hall is filled with cat fights. That would really be great working condition, NOT. I say we should have a peaceful Demonstration in front of City Hall demanding Ms. Auer be given her job back, and be given s new Supervisor.

Both women r easy on the eyes. What a dilemma. No room 4 grooming or correcting--just firing. Many in the city have not been fired after big mistakes/lies. Is this a new direction or just a isolated case of overzealous enforcement by disgruntled management?

Auer did not get along with Hemphill so she was fired. That is one of the most ridiculous reasons for a firing that I have ever heard. If Mrs. Auer didn't want her job because of that, she would have quit. The real reason is Mrs. Hemphill didn't get along with Mrs. Auer. Minor wording change that makes a huge difference. And since Mrs. Hemphill was the candidate who turned the city manager position down after wasting the city's time and money, I don't believe she is fit to hold the interim position. And then there is the mayor...what a poor, lazy decision on his part to assign this situation to the city council.

In response to the recent firing of Minot City Attorney, Colleeen Auer, this petition is meant to give a voice to concerned community members who want to see more progress in Flood Recovery & Prevention in the Souris River Valley.

Colleen Auer was fired for responding to the people of this community who want to see "Zombie Homes" GONE or RESTORED. City Manager Cindy Hemphill called it 'insubordination'. We call it progress.
