April 24, 2014

Better late than never, we guess. A committee has begun the difficult task of determining the definition of a “community facility” that could be eligible for sales tax assistance from the city....

I agree rickrod. It is not the YMCA where you pay a membership. It's not supported by tax dollars. It's not these other entities that previously received monies. I also agree on the comment that a lot of these folks should be in jail for these misuse of funds for a lot of projects and such. It's time to foot down and take back our town.

A community facility is a place that costs the taxpayers more money all of the time and the private benefactors rake in the dough.

Everybody knows that.

I'd like to think of JackA's musings as satire BD.

Merriam-Webster

sat·ire noun \'sa-?ti(-?)r\

: a way of using humor to show that someone or something is foolish, weak, bad, etc. : humor that shows the weaknesses or bad qualities of a person, government, society, etc.

We are living in times that require a certain satirical or whimsical consideration.

Jack, from the Oxford Dictionaries: sarcasm - Origin

mid 16th century: from French sarcasme, or via late Latin from late Greek sarkasmos, from Greek sarkazein 'tear flesh', in late Greek 'gnash the teeth, speak bitterly' (from sarx, sark- 'flesh').

Bitterness is such a waste of time. I'm sure you can find more productive ways to spend your life.

What is a community facility? that is not hard, is it supported by tax dollars? then yes it is a community facility. If it is a private facility not supported by the Minot tax dollars, then it is a private facility and not eligible for these dollars.
