Even if they did away with all state taxes the cities would look at is as a source of income to raise local taxes to offset. Case in point my taxes have more than doubled in Minot over the past ten years.

Tax talk? Can u tell there are elections coming? Butch and Sundance come 2 town with 38% snake oil. That means if u were paying $1000 b4 the 38% reductions, you would now b paying $620. That should give u some idea of just how much some counties raised property values in the last 5 years. Why now? Where were they 3 years ago. Per hoeven, it costs 20% more to live here since oil. That is $10,000 extra on a typical $50,000 family income; assuming they spend it all--and most $50K's do. The cuts were statewide even though the west had a much greater cost of living and property value impact. This is another reason to vote no. Don't tell me they can't pay 4 schools.
