The most dangerous workplace in the country. Our repubs cried out "we can manage this--keep the Fed out. Today they blame the Fed for the weak railcar standards and call 4 action. We learned ND sweet crude is more volatile than other crude and was shipped by rail with a lower level of safety than required. Who lied about the volatility? I believe this can all be done safely but our boys chose to look the other way and we see fires, spills and contamination as a result. "They never completely fix the damage they do" said a writer from Colorado who experienced it. We have state greed instead of state leadership. May they enjoy their legacy of greedy fools.

Not too many years ago, all the posters here complained about having to leave the state to find "good paying jobs" Now they are complaining about the "good paying jobs" that are here. I know people from the West coast who go to ND for work telling about the lazy North Dakotans who think they should make $20 an hour just to get out of bed

Totally agree EarlyBird. I'm guessing when people are suggesting Big Oil came to town, they must be referring to anything town west of Minot. But most of the people west of Minot actually embrace what is happening. To their towns. We just hear all the negative stories.

I agree Ronaldo. It seems the oil activity has ruined a wonderful place to live. I wish the oil would dry up and go away and take the windmills with.

Sorry to say But most people in North Dakota were much better off before the BIG OIL Guys came to Town. Higher Co$ts on everything has only reduced the Quality of Life for MOST !!

I see the Oil Mecca Minot ND and Ward County are not mentioned in the information.

Way above the Bakken Minot had a flood boom.
