we have been fighting city hall to build a home. no matter the whole area is begging for more homes especially after the flood. Then they looked like they were going to cave in and had a public meeting to hear of a special assessment to put sewer in. I was unable to make the meeting because I live in Williston. But I figured this was a slam dunk. Well I guess there were a few that didn't want it. Why on earth would you buy lots in a platted development and not want to build or have services on the lots so that they were worth something for resale. Those people are insane. But now the city wants to assess my useless lots for the new improvements they wish to install. None of which will benefit me or my lots one iota. I cannot fathom what these city officials are thinking.

the city council of Surrey has been a bunch of inept clowns for a dozen years or more. In approximately 2004 the city sold numerous lots it had taken back in taxes via sealed bids. These lots were all in a platted development on the northwest edge of town. My wife and I bought three lots. Our neighbors bought two. We were all excited to be able to build new homes there. However, the city said no, we aren't going to put sewer in there. Water was already going through the development. So many of the lot holders have been trying to get the city to put sewer in this development for years and they refuse to do it. However, a couple months after the bidding, the city gave some lots on the far northwest corner to the senior citizens and because they were building a building with only a frost foundation they were able to put sewer along the county road and just make grade on third street. But the city refused anybody else in the development sewer services. So for the past ten years

Glad to see we are getting a tower wish the development would chip in. I'm sure we are not going to see conti because he was for it and most of the council member were against it. Good luck to you conti hope you don't loose your job. They have a history of firing good people that know their jobs. The to elect a new council and mayor these ones are corrupt and think of there own agenda. But that has always been the history of surrey they have a swinging door on police chiefs and public work directors. Ask us old timers . Lost a lot of good people by bad decisions by this council. Good luck antonio conti

This council passed it but I'm sure it was making sure it benefit them somehow. Never seen a council think of them selves more then this one. Not care what the city wants along with the fire department and all the folks kids that go to surrey school. I looked up AE2S and I have a feeling they know more then this council and city auditor jason . Maybe they should start listening to him and stop fighting him.

This city council and mayor need to be kicked out of their positions . They have know for seven years they haven't had enough water that if the school caught on fire they couldn't put it out. They have looked the other way. I have a family member tell me that the city auditor is against it along with most of the council. Our safety and children's safety isn't important to them I guess along with our safety on the streets. Making our police chief resign for doing nothing serious. Surrey city council gets a F in my books along with most citizens think. Hiding we needed a water tower for the last 10+ years and getting rid of the police chief who cared about our kids and seniors and made sure our town was safe. Good Antonio Conti watch your back there is a lot of horrible people on council and city hall.

I'm surprised it pasted. I'm been for it for years and said there wasn't enough fire.this conti from AE2s better be care last I knew most of the aldermen were against it. He could end up like their former police chief on the unemployment line. Guy did nothing wrong except not agree with the council on stuff with police they had no clue about. The forced him to put his two weeks in. Sad Surrey police force and safety of our town and children have been put in jeopardy. Be careful conti from ae2s they have a history of getting rid of good people look at the last 3 police chiefs .

What they are talking about is the ISO rating for fire protection like I said in the past the ISO rating is from 1-10, 1 being the best rating and lowest insurance now a 10 is BAD high insurance. I think Surrey ISO rating is a 9 or 10. So if they build the new tower and the fire dept. gets a pumper engine with a good pump and more members. I could see Surrey rating go down to a 5 that means people inside the city could save about $130 to 180 a year on there insurance. So people there is a plus about this. Just Think people if the city plant went down you would be out of water in a day or 2 or have a BIG FIRE then they could drain the tower see 50,000 Gallons is not a lot when fighting fires there are fire trucks that pump from 1,000 to 2,000 Gallon minute pumps so that old water tower in Surrey would have about 50 to 20 minutes of water to put the fire out. In the long run Surrey citizens you may only pay $20.00 or $110.00 max.
