I imagine we all a teacher or two throughout our school years that we seemed to really click with. For some reason those teachers were interesting and easy to show respect to.

So maybe we also need to look at teacher standards when it come to child psychology.

I think everybody remembers the name of every Teacher they had, that proves how important they really are in our lives. I hope that is enough to compel all Teachers to be that special Teacher for everyone.

The Common Core Standards are nothing but a federal takeover of the education system. It's an absolute debacle. People need to take a look at how math is to be taught with the new standards. I can only speak for the elementary level, but it is a complete mess and we are screwing up our kids teaching them this fluffy math.

Thanks for speaking out on this subject, I have worked with a few Mama's genius's and it was difficult for me and even more difficult for them. Don't know what kind of work they are trying to do now.

Probably hired one those fresh out of our, too ignorant, ultra- liberal, "I hate America" / "I hate the Military" colleges lawyer to sue their parents for them.

Kirsten is still spewing the same CC nonsense. IGNORES that 30 out of the 45 who accepted it are fighting it now. ***********wnd****/2014/03/30-states-wage-war-on-obama-initiative/?cat_orig=politics

To me if the Students are below standards it is not their faults it is the adults who are their to teach them who are not getting their jobs done. Students are just kids, how can anyone blame them for not knowing what they haven't been taught?

I didn't support 'no child left behind' and I don't support CC. Can anyone prove to me that Common Core standards are NOT tied to the gathering and storing of in-depth personal data about every child? That the files are called longitudinal, which means they include information from birth and track the kids all through school and college? But, I guess no one care about their personal information being out there. I have heard no one on this site c/o the personal info of 290,000 UND students and staff being hacked since October. No one here is screaming about the public right to know. Scream about an oil spill in Tioga? Demand transparency and yet no outcry over nearly 300,000 being affected by hackers?
