Debt limit concerns continue

February 21, 2014

How would you react if your bank gave you an open-ended credit limit — and assured you that within a year or so, no matter how much you had borrowed in the interim, it would be increased? Banks......

Gee, I know, my average tax rate is about 17.5% plus 15.3% fica equals 32.8%. The Mitt Romney's of the US only pay about 14%. These filthy rich job destroyers should pay at least 50% or better 90%.

What is this 'we' business? I didn't borrow any money to help the US run its gov bidness into the ground. I sure am asked to help pay for it, though.

The debt is not going to be paid.

When 3 to 4 hundred billion of the yearly expenditures is in interest paid to the banksters, you have a problem.

How come the US has to borrow money from banksters, can't Congress just do the loaning?

Something smells very rotten along the Potomac and it's the rot in Washington, District of Clowns.

Please don't ask me to be a part of it, it isn't going to happen.

We're "drowning in a sea of debt" because ND (and every other welfare moocher state) takes out TWO DOLLARS for every ONE DOLLAR put in.

If you're so sick of welfare -- STOP TAKING IT.

We were sold war when we could not afford it, then shafted by wall street, then gridlocked in part because the party of war said "no new tax, no jobs program and no cuts in defense".

progressive, why don't you go after the source of the problem. The tax code. you do know there are hoards of liberal's that do the same as Romney. But they probably donate 1/100th or less to charity that Romney does.

Did you know that the federal debt stands 63% higher today than the day Barack Obama took office? Avoid defending the indefeasible libs as that is about all you can do-do.

The day is coming when Obama's chickens come home to roost.

I agree with poetic justice. No more ag subsidies from the government. NO ag program at all including food stamps. If food stamps are needed they can stand alone with their own legislated program, not hidden away in a farm program. The food stamp president should have no problem making the case for all the new food stamp recipients he has brought on board.

"progressive, why don't you go after the source of the problem." Your right Chad. Call every source of monetary gain as income and place a progressive tax rate on all of it.

Remove the Social Security tax cap and tax all income.

Place a tariff on all imported goods equal to the percent difference between their minimum wage and ours $7.25/hour US Vs $0.54/hour Mexico, India, and China. 13 times difference or 1300%.

Make it a felony to hire an illegal alien.

confiscate assets of people and companies who hide money off shore.

Get rid of all subsidies and tax credits for corporations.

Make the heads of corporations and their board of directors criminally and financially liable for their companies.

Make defense contractors abide by their bids and contracts.

And who makes up food stamp recipients? Children and Veterans.

Many people might be surprised to learn that the average contribution to the food stamp program is a little over 10 cents, or one thin dime, a day. $36.50 a year. Please compare that to the 78 billion US taxpayers pay in oil subsidies.

This war on the poor has to stop. It's soooo un Christian!

"The Mitt Romney's of the US only pay about 14%. These filthy rich job destroyers should pay at least 50% or better 90%."

But, but, but, ProgLib, we are keeping up. Did you mention the Warren Buffetts, or the Bill Gates, or the Larry Ellisons, or the Michael Bloombergs, or the George Soros? No, you mentioned one former Republican presidential candidate. Maybe if you'd mentioned some of these others, chad wouldn't have made an assumption, based on your selective posting.

Oh, well, at least a spleen was vented...

i think any farmer would give up his gov payment but then let us trade in the open market instead of using our product for leverage in other countries. i would like that.
