When the presidolt and posters lie, this is what we get:

willygarr/canook/markhighwater,

I'm still waiting for math class.

If the following is true, I was ten when you started your tour in Vietnam. Do you honestly expect any of us to believe you talk like this, a person of your age and hopefully wisdom. If I was ten then you would have to be almost 80 now. It's hard to deceive for that long.

Started tour on May 15, 1968 at Bien Hoa Province, South Vietnam..My rank is Captain, Us Army. My MOS {training} is 4800D Maintenance Officer for Ordnance and Civil Affairs...Units served; A Co. Army Depot Long Binh Army S>P>T>, CMD Saigon, 1st LOG CMD, USARV... Medals: Purple Heart

U.S. News reported that when Bush's father, George H. yelled at him for driving drunk and wrecking the car -- a still soused George W. angrily responded:

"I hear you're looking for me. You wanna go mano-a-mano right here?"

HAetc, when I said "thank you, Captain Obvious," that was my way of saying OF COURSE addictive behaviors leave a mark, a scathing if you will.

Your opinion, though no doubt earnest, sincere and freely given, is still just that: your opinion.

My opinion is also just that: my opinion.

There. Now that we've got things settled, can we move on?

If you are for the legal consumption of tobacco and alcohol, you have to be for the consumption of pot, there is no difference. Unless you are a hypocrite... They should just decriminalize the growing of 5 or so plants for personal consumption in your own home. Make drug testing for it illegal since that is an invasion of personal rights. Do the same for tobacco, If you want to smoke it, grow your own. I will leave alcohol for you people to justify and fight over.

I've smoked some pot and the only thing it did for me was make me want some food stamps.

Locomotive, so good to hear you came through unscathed. It is fun to state the obvious and play with the libs. They promote smoking unregulated legal pot, but hate second hand smoke from legal cigarettes! absurd

The one thing from ProgLib I agree with:

"Of course the AMA is against Maryjane, how would they get their kickbacks for every prescription they write? Whatever would the shrinks do if everyone were self medicating?"

Google "Codex Alimentarius" to get a little perspective on ProgLib's assertion. Big Pharma isn't that friendly with Big Herbal Remedy, is it?

"Not one person who is against pot has ever smoked it so their opinion is meaningless."

Sorry, ProgLib, you are wrong with this on two counts.

1) President Obama has smoked it and said the following in the New Yorker: Smoking marijuana is “not something I encourage, and I’ve told my daughters I think it’s a bad idea, a waste of time, not very healthy,” (President) Obama said.

2) I've smoked it and I'm now against it. Full disclosure: I also abused alcohol and other drugs, sometimes many substances at once.

One of my favorite phrases when I was using: reality is for people who don't use drugs.

My "Amen" post from SAM still stands: "...without the facts, and without public policy experts, you wind up with a vacuum where anecdote and opinion become public policy."

VERITAS: "I'm not sure of the demogaphics that make up a 58% approval of the legalization of pot but until alcohol receives the same attention it's just more "Rooting for Failure" stuff the right seems to enjoy... "

These facts were posted not only for this forum at large, but specifically for centerish, who lives and dies for facts.

Sorry Loco, there was not one fact on that website. Not one study has ever found one thing dangerous about pot. Not one person who is against pot has ever smoked it so their opinion is meaningless. All of their claims are false with manipulated data. Of course the AMA is against Maryjane, how would they get their kickbacks for every prescription they write? Whatever would the shrinks do if everyone were self medicating? Keep believing the lies.
