@disgusted I seen NDHP stop vehicles in the city limits they can stop anyone away where and can only enforce state law not city ordnance. I ask a NDHP once during the state fair they had someone stopped next to the holiday inn and he was from the Fargo High patrol District.

Got it, but I don't think state troopers work within city limits unless the situation is threatening the public. Then, I wonder if they don't need to be called in by the city police. Maybe, someone out there can let us know.

Minot State Troopers? From Minot State? There are no Minot State Troopers, that may be why you haven't seen them. But, you're are right. The fines are ridiculous. Punishment needs to hit them in the pocket book. They need to garnish those fines, however many are not gainfully employed. I feel for the officials who have to deal with this day after day.

I saw a state fleet vehicle pass my vehicle on I-94 at 90 plus mph.

When state employees are speeding down the road, who is going to stop them?

Not one state trooper along I-94.

Try to drive the speed limit on I-94 and you almost get run over.

Many out of state drivers going 90 mph.

I looked up the crashed in the ND Gov. website and saw that in 2012 their was 147 Fatal crash and 92 of them No one was wearing a seatbelt and 87 were Alcohol as well. But my opinion is if someone want's to in a fatal crash just don't wear your seatbelt I read a fatal crash in the Minot daily a while ago were 2 people in a crash same vehicle 1 lived and walked away and 1 Died because he didn't have a seatbelt on. I hear lately vehicle crash were the person was Ejected from the car and either crushed by the car or just landed on the road.

I agree taxman5 our state official's need to do something fast or that number could reach 500 someday. My friend got caught running a stop sign as he was coming on to Highway 83 and a county deputy pulled him over and gave him a $20.00 Fine I laughed Back home our fine is $160.00 for running a stop sign and do many people run them NO. This state seem like a joke when it comes to Traffic Fines. I drive near Stanley and Tioga I scared to drive because I know someone in the NW North Dakota is going be in a fatal crash today.

I rarely see Minot State Troopers on the road. I also blame more of these traffic deaths on our ND state legislatures because our traffic fines in our state haven't went up in 60+ years I drive on Hwy 2 and 83 every day and I see people pass me at 80+. I talked with many out of state drivers and ask them why they speed? It is because they can afford it see in a 55MPH ZONE if you get caught doing 70 MPH it is $15.00 and they say in there state it is $175+ and they tell me they don't speed there and they say not a lot of people speed they said. Even the DUI and Other traffic fines are much more than other states. Even one legislature wanted to get rid of many Troopers and not add anymore because there was no need for more. I know that legislatures do speed also. On a side note when there is traffic accidents people seem not to pull over for RED, WHITE or BLUE Emergency Vehicle Lights Please people pull over they maybe going to help one of your family or friends. Two words SPEED KILLS
