NoTea4Me,

You realize that you could never be misconstrued as North Dakota nice. As for the dark side, I still have faith in my fellow North Dakotans. Do we have challenges that most of us have never faced, absolutely. Will we work to address those challenges, absolutely. For you to characterize all of these as republican, corrupt, and organized crime is honestly purely partisan ignorance on your part.

nt4m: you left out williston after the last oil bust. take away the oil bus and this red state had a pathetic economy, low wages, low opportunity fly over country. suggest you do not brag about our high taxes, utilities, cost of living and number 49 on teacher pay, i think. still like your comments though.

ovo: the President did not cause the lifetime caps on payments, rediculously high costs, slick money grabbing plans, pre-existing condition prohibitions and the like that cause the majority of voters to ask 4 healthcare reform. that was all done by the ins. and medical industry. The right said that was all ok--let the private sector correct it. Our president responded to the wishes of the people and did what Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton failed at. He won the votes for two terms and the ACA. You apparently lost.

I keep hearing from the lefties about the GOP wasteland etc, but did they ever think what a Dem run state would look like??? Look at Detroit for an example. I for one would rather put up with a GOP wasteland than an actual one like Detroit and Birmingham. the facts speak.....

Ya NoTea we got it.. 16 hours of work and no schooling

Doesnt take long to figure that out from the posts you supply us..

6 days a week 16 hours a day in the rain..right.. no schooling.. right..

I am over 70 now and still put in at least a 10 hour day sometimes 7 days a week with my small business..

Supply and demand.. Work OR Play

Everyones choice..

Some people just make smarter choices then others..

Some watch opportunity go by and Beach and complain..

Others latch on to the opportuities and take advantage

I appreciate the opportunities the oil boom has brought to North Dakotans, as well as the opportunities provided to thousands of out-of-staters who were not able to find work in their own states.

As Legend has stated before, there are concerns with oil. I'm expecting the industry to accept and fully implement common-sense safety regulations, just like the coal industry did back when Art Link was governor. (He had a strong farming background and knew what needed to be in place to protect North Dakotan quality of life.)

I sincerely hope that a similar stance is taken with the oil industry for the same long-term results for our state. If the industry doesn't wish to accept what North Dakota requires, yes, they might go elsewhere to drill. If North Dakota gets a little more quiet as a result of oil companies leaving for states with less taxes, so be it. (Do any of us think that's going to happen real soon?)

"...our president did not make the healthcare mess--but he is trying to fix it with the right obstructing as best they know how."

Not rooted in reality...

whistle and ovo: our president did not make the healthcare mess--but he is trying to fix it with the right obstructing as best they know how. the vast majority of Americans will benefit from healthcare reform. the president does not control gas prices. if oil does not straighten up the affordable energy act might be next. and p.s. what r u smokin anyhow?

Anyone catch the Nancy Pee-lo-see show this morning?

Pelosi sounds just like Baghdad Bob, the Iraqi Minister of Information, when he was standing by the airport telling folks that the Americans were nowhere near. Yet, one could hear the shooting in the background.

She thinks Obamacare is just fine.. Guess she not only can't read.. but she can't hear the reports either..

She is the Democrats Queen B or better yet their Centerfold..

She lies with a straight face because its botoxed in place..

NoTea I worked 60 hours weeks well up into my 60s.. I guess some of us are just more capable of working well others choose to sit on the couch after their 30 hour week is done..

Obvious you have no clue what hard work "really" is.

And all the time everyone of you here in the blogs has the opportunity to go to work in the oil fields.. Do the 60 hours shiftsa like this gal did and pick up good money..but for most its just easier to complain and let someone else do the work.

I don't have an oil check but I sure have made decent money with my small busines I started when all this came about.

For every liberal happy about Obamacare their are 10 Americans getting shafted..

see how that works>>>>>>>>>>>

Again you describe Obama.. Anyone who does not produce something by the efforts of their own labor is a leech on society. But, we apparently are just supposed to ignore the negative effects of this and fall in line like a nice little slaves for Obama and not question anything.

You described your dear leader to a TEE!!!!!

whistle:if i were pres. my goal would be to make oil a public utility. my guess is gas would be $1.50, production would be safe and sane and exports would end. when business is out of control with greed, only the Fed can correct it. We pay more so the koch's can buy politic

checkmate nt4m. don't stop now--u r rollin. the letter gives the oil side of the story and completely ignores the tremendous cost the rest of us pay 4 it. if they did it safer and with less impact (which can be done)i would start to listen.
