I can see the writer's point but at the same time, I think we need to do a better job explaining tourism and attractions to see across North Dakota, and the great rich history I think we need to do a better job along with capitalizing on the oil just like Texas did with the heydey of Dallas the television show and the new Dallas.

thanks for a great article. our big tourist draw is turning into an industrial site. driving out there is not recommended for the general public. high crime (initially denied by ND) and the most dangerous workplace in the country. it could be done safe and clean but our boys wanted to let oil run free and bragged they would "take this success to Wash." Do it! take the pollution, spills, crime and destruction of our pristine badlands to Wash. great article. when the top of lake sak. is covered with oil it may all come to a stop because they refuse to do it safely and sane.

star: some of us are not driven by more money. God, country, family, nature; to name a few are more important than more money to many of us. the legacy of our current state gov't. will be those who allowed the badlands to be defaced, unnecessarily for money. they should be represented on a monument in the form of a dead tree at the edge of an oil spill.
