fact is our last new school vote was ignored. they bought a bldg. and made it into a school. is that the kind of civics we want our children to see? vote no and let's try to get representative government in minot. don't let oil take our money and our way of life. this is an oil cost the state should pay for. vote no.

less money to those of us on fixed incomes. less for flood victims. less follows for churches and charity. our majority voted for kevin cramer. that is diabolical. lighting may well strike if they dare to say "tax and spend liberal". red city blues.

the state has billions from oil and sales taxes. oil caused this need--oil money should pay for it because minot taxes are out of control already.

Our vote will be no as well because you see valuations of houses have doubled in less than 6 years explain that one to me? In addition, there was a baby pack almost 5 years ago at Minot High School that wasn't address so these children will be going to school. In addition, when other communities about 6 to 7 years ago were experience growth pains, John MacMartin was asked this question would Minot experience this. He said no, and now we're being reactive instead of proactive. Why oh why do we keep paying more taxes? Even before the school bond passes, some people will already be paying almost $1,000 more each year...so now you want us to pay $2,000? I don't think so.

Wasn't Vollmer who said that if they didn't need all the money, they wouldn't spend it or was the a misquote by MDN?

Our household will be voting no on this issue. Actually I don't know very many people who will be voting yes. The school system doesn't seem to understand that those of us who went through the flood are completely tapped, and we have nothing left to give. Many of us had to take out extra loans and second or even third mortgages to rebuild. Our property value doubled or even tripled from what we paid for our houses before the flood. Where are we supposed to keep coming up with all of the extra money that this city wants from us? It's time for us to come together and put our voice out there that we are tired of the taxes and we will not pay more!

Go to the Minot Public Library and ask for November 22, 1969 issue where the whole plan for the 69 bond issue is laid out in a large , detailed article in the Minot Daily News. There was no lying about the plan of the 69 Bond Issue. Do not take my word for it - go and research it at the library by reading.

"?Find the Facts" Yep, a good question that was not answered by this letter. unsafe===how? over- crowded====where and how? our schools have been using portables for years. Now we have some newbies moving in who will be moving out and they just can't have their kiddies in a portable? Until the school board is straight forward and honest, which they have not been since they lied about Minot High, my vote is no.
