....sometimes I am really torn in making the statements like I just did......it totally goes against my philosophy of 'gifts are good'. And if these non-essentials can get a few weeks off, even months off, and then get paid for it....then I should just be happy for them in receiving those 'gifts'......and I really should just be putting the blame on those dirty Republicans for that of what many are calling 'wasted'. But it's really not....it's a gift.

I fully agree with you No T.....shutdowns are just for political reasons.....so keep the workers on the job and it will make the 'shutdown' fairly moot....not?

I too, No T, am concerned about the 24billion wasted....If it had been all given as gifts to the non-essentials, I know I would feel better about it.

No T, how about if we come together and pass some legislation that the federal workers stay on the job in a shutdown, as we both know they get paid in the end anyway? How about it? Would you call your legislators along with me?

The famous comments about Dems is the tax and spend line but for Republicans, it becomes spend, spend, deregulate, spend, deregulate, miss handle the government. That is the Republican mantra.
