Now that they are back to work, life will be even more miserable.

President Obama has been jonesin' to fly Air Force One to a golf course somewhere and the flight crew was furloughed, so he has had to wait. He kicked and stomped his feet and threw a temper tantrum until the Republicans gave him the candy they promised him. Obumah cried like a baby and made a big hissy fit until he got his way.

It's tee time. What a relief that the gov is 'back to work'. For Obama, not for anybody else.

so amusing...the Minot Daily has an editorial one day accusing the President with nonfactual opinions. Then decide no one should blame the other side. Translation: we know the Repugs are to blame, but we don't want to hear it and certainly won't admit it, let's just move on! You have zero credibility!

Rep. party leaders have admitted they did it to ruin Obamacare. they lost big in the polls for it. they grandstand over closed parks and memorials but their agenda would be much worse. If they would agree to a jobs program, the deficit might be solved. the real losers are the mid-road republicans who will unfortunately suffer because of t party fanaticism and double-talk. We do not need these hired guns in our congress. they have proven themselves to be the only thing worse than hard left rule.

I am sure glad my Democrat Party and Obama have the media on their side. If this weren't for the media, this would have been a fiasco for my Democrat Party. They sure did spin it just right for us.

The line starts for the day's bread and circus, with a stellar beginning, joy and laughter are here again today.

The miserable wretches in the dysfunctional congress need company, so it was for their benefit that life became miserable for everyone else.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? What's that? Surely, you jest.

It was the responsible thing to do to extend the debt limit said Heidi Heitkamp. Words that could haunt her, but the Republicans are too stupid to use them as a political hay, they're sell outs too.

I doubt if any Republican can beat her in the next election, all you have to do is herd the average North Dakota sheep to the vote center. They will all fall in line and say 'bah' and re-elect their free lunch they expect to be fed. They aren't grazing on grasslands, just being fed manure.

If a tax is put on cigarettes to reduce smoking; is the tax on income put in place to reduce working?

I am kinda looking for dusty's seven or eight obnoxious posts here. After all, there are now at least 16 posts and dusty only has one. That's a record. But, thanks jack for your uplifting comments. You left out some kind of conspiracy theory and, and, oh, you did have something about the media, didn't you. That could be a start to your conspiracy theory. Now, since you reformed yourself and became a democrat a while back, you probably need to go to right wing rehab for slipping back to the media thingy. Pull up your panties and get back in the right wing game. Come on jack, you can do it.

Is that what you bring to the table, dusty? I don't know what your problem is with the statement that Tripoli was an unsecured airport and our jets did not have clearance to even fly through the airspace. But, you go ahead, dusty, since you are our military expert, our head start guru, and a very miscellaneous and useless piece of nonsense. Your comments are most always based on fantasy anyway. You are da man.

Obviously, you know nothing about the military and how they operate. It is obvious any time you want to change the subject from the losers of the tea party which you follow, to other items. You continually bring up old, tired, and wore out garbage. Like you, dusty, garbage in and garbage out. Too bad about your Republican party, you know the obstructionist, the minority party, the soon to be extinct party. Change the subject again, dusty and your party will still smell the same-defeated and deflated.

"Mary Player, another federal worker for the The Department for Housing and Urban Development, said although the shutdown has affected federal workers economically, they all want to continue being devoted workers to help make up for lost government revenue.

"'They want to get back, and they want to receive their money, and when they go back and get their paycheck that’s putting money back into the economy,' Player said."

The federal gov't is Player's employer. Where does the federal gov't get the majority of its money? Through taxes.

This is a zero sum gain. What percentage of government's money is generated by itself, as income or profit? Precious little. Government takes from its citizens in order to pay its employees, who also happen to be citizens.

Question: Are we NOT to feel sorry for those who have been unemployed for weeks or months, not drawing a paycheck, as a result of our sluggish national economy?

Not everyone is, can be, or should be a federal employee. This news story has plucked the heart strings for the gov't employees. Where are the news stories covering thousands of unemployed across the country? More part-time jobs are their lot, with big businesses gaining a year's delay to implement the president's Obamacare policy.

Crony capitalism - if you're "somebody" then somebody cares.

What, The Rugby Reader? No one is happy about the Democrat's or Republican's. I bet if Ted Cruz douses himself in gasoline, Obama won't want to be bothered. He is a little about himself, as you are.

Hey, missy, how about the hundreds of thousands of people in Iraq-- you know--civilians with no military ties, that died because of Bush',cheney, lies. That is a part of the destruction your party---yes, lady, your party, caused... get real for once and admit that you back the extremest and the losers.

Where did the $24 billion go to, oh lefty economists?

As far as "getting back to work," this seems to be the new bi-partisanship promoted by liberals ala willgrr...

"Republicans played their hand, and lost big, now it is the time for them to ask politely for meager things. It is time for Republicans to know their place, because we will certainly put them in their place next November."

Double uggh...

Isn't "knowing one's place" a bit pejorative, even for willgrr?

Liberals...the oh-so-compassionate, unfailingly tolerant, completely enlightened members of society...

wish Republicans would know their place.

Fascinating...

Doesn't sound much like the words "compromise" or "negotiate" but we already heard that from the president and Sen. Harry Reid, the leaders of the party of NO WAY ON THIS EARTH.
