Veritas, you can take Peter King and I'll take the moderate/conservative Democrats.

Now, back to the game of ACA Political Hardball...

WA Post 7-23-13

"The landmark health-reform law passed in 2010 has never been very popular and always highly partisan, but a new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds that a group of once loyal Democrats has been steadily turning against Obamacare: Democrats who are ideologically moderate or conservative.

"Just after the law was passed in 2010, fully 74 percent of moderate and conservative Democrats supported the federal law making changes to the health-care system. But just 46 percent express support in the new poll, down 11 points in the past year. Liberal Democrats, by contrast, have continued to support the law at very high levels – 78 percent in the latest survey. Among the public at large, 42 percent support and 49 percent oppose the law, retreating from an even split at 47 percent apiece last July."

I have. We're in an industry using gasoline and ethanol-blends. You can check again if you'd like.

"AGAIN, If I'm wrong, pls provide a NAME who's doing something...A PERSON who would be quoteable...A CANDIDATE...OOPS, we've tried this before...Let me think 4 times maybe and NADDA...NADDA"

Veritas, there is no need to bring up the word "candidate" today unless we talk about one who seems to always be campaigning and could be deemed "the eternal candidate." Do you want to go there?

Did you know there ARE people in office now, today, that have been there at least .5 years or more? MANY are Democrats duly elected and willing to represent their constituents.

I find it INTERESTING INDEED to see DC gridlock, inaction, fecklessness, lack of confidence, continuing economic woes, (etc. into infinity), blamed on ONE party when there are more than ONE party represented in DC. Now why is that? CAN you tell us?

BTW, thanks for remaining true to yourself and your party, Veritas. Knew I could count on you.

Anybody who believes Obama is their for the average Joe is seriously deluded. Wall Street uses Obama to achieve their goals Obama is not calling the shots. He's a perfect tool. Stop being duped and come to your senses, for God sales. You are blind if you can't see it.

There is no hope for stupid people and there are a lot of them.

Whistler: First they spent endless money to keep him from winning the presidency--then they ask him to approve a highly questionable and risky pipeline. Smart? Yes we import mideast oil and Canadaian and more. We also export oil. Smart? Ethanol has it's problems yes--by it does reduce our demand on oil. The gas they use to mix with ethanol is so low quality it takes the alcohol to get it up to 85 octane and make an engine run. The left over mash from making the stuff is used as animal feed. You better check that 30 day storage statement. The warnings are for over winter. Boat motors should not be stored over winter with alcohol--is that because they refuse to keep up with other egnine makers? Marksism? What do you call the grip oil has on us. It is a form of Fascism.

"With all of the vast known oil reserves, $3.69 gas is nearly treason. That is why we have subsidies for ethonol, hydrogen and electric cars, solar innovation and more."

Ethanol is NOT an oil equivalent. Its stability is far less than oil. Ethanol blended gasoline lasts 30 days tops, even with stabilizers added. Look it up.

In order to be energy efficient, one would have to upgrade to a flex fuel vehicle or one similarly equipped for ethanol or ethanol blends. How many families can afford the price of a new vehicle nowadays, on top of the high gas prices?

As only one of the energy alternatives subsidized AND ITS USE MANDATED by our gov't, ethanol's track record has been spotty at best. Ethanol mandates have sent corn prices through the roof all over the world. Does higher priced corn help the world's hungry people?

Legislators and regulators should think things through before subsidies and mandates are enacted.

Sure. No blues whatsoever were in DC for the last 5.5 years.

Does President Obama and the Senate's Democrat majority know what you're "not" saying about them?

Really curious how the minority gets the blame for what's been going on. Well, we are talking about blues, aren't we, of which Pres. Obama is about the bluest...

Was it a good idea to extract canadian tar sands without approval of a desired pipeline? What sense does it make to ship the stuff across nearly an entire continent? We will never have energy independence as long as it is speculated on in the market and exported at will. With all of the vast known oil reserves, $3.69 gas is nearly treason. That is why we have subsidies for ethonol, hydrogen and electric cars, solar innovation and more. The majority of congress has not been dumb about energy innovation.

If you check out the source, you'll find bdgi's quote and a whole bunch of info about "printing money" that was revealing, to say the least.

Yowza

Here I thought the QE was a cruise ship. Looks like the QEs 1, 2, 3 and possibly 4 are taking the nation for a ride...

This used to be a old joke:

"No worries, old girl. We'll just print more!"

Well get ready to be shocked. Rick Santorum said the Govt. can't do anything right. Obama said if you started a business--you didn't build that alone. You didn't put in the streets with water, sewer and electrical. You depend on a bank, police and fire protection and much more. The USGS found the Bakken oil. Ethanol is because oil has the world in a stranglehold. Obamacare is because medical costs and quality are unacceptable. An appendectomy may cost $3k or $30k. Our red powers favor large business of which there are many fewer than small bus. You need to give business more credit. Obama wants a thriving economy and they know it. Reds want ideology and obstructionism as of late. The failure of reds to produce ideas or act in the last 5.5 years sets the stage for the next elections--prepare to be shocked.

Good information. I'll add some more...

demonocracy . info/infographics/usa/federal_reserve-qe3/money_printing-2012-2013

"The Federal Reserve is the Central Bank of United States of America. It is responsible for printing the U.S. dollars & much more. The reason for Federal Reserve's existence is to maintain price stability and maximum employment.

"The Federal Reserve (and other Central Banks) have been 'printing' money in recent years under various code-names, including Quantitive Easing (QE 1, 2, & 3), LTRO, SMP, TWIST, TARP and TALF, in order to bring unemployment down & speed up the economy. This article explains the failure behind the current money printing scheme and how banks, not people, get the money."

Gotta love all your miss information. The Texas government has been a mess ever since Bush and Delay took over and is still a mess. By the way, is Perry still wanting to secede from the Union? You did not read the rulings did you. Ha, that was a given. Now, we change the subject again. It shows that if you have money, influential friends and are a Republican, you can get away with anything in Texas.

And just maybe it was a violation of the law. But, it is Texas justice and we all know that politics prevails in Texas decisions. The vote was 2-1 with two Republican justices voting for. Well, let me see, Justice Goodwin (R)was found guilty of violating campaign finance laws in her own campaign, so what is a little mess with DeLay. But, then the chief justice of the Texas court appointed a third justice from another court (the 9th district) to be added to the 3 district specifically to handle DeLay's case. Of course he is a Republican. So, Texas justice is just what it is purported to be, slanted to the political core. Oh, and the reasoning in the decisions are amazing. You should read them, Dusty. But, since your comprehension is non-existant, you won't get anything out of it.

The lession here, of course, is that it's poor advice to go out of your way to malign a certain group of people for short-term political gain. It might have worked for his 2012 reelection campaign, but now he'll have serious credibility problems when he comes begging for help from the same people be freely cursed a mere 12-18 months before.

I don't expect him to learn this lession or to come away with an enlarged perspective of human relations and reality.
