Psychologists have determined that smoking and/or chain smoking are forms of grief, therefore, ergo, you will never be able to stop the use of tobacco.

The gov knows this, but it is just another way to have a revenue stream for governments. Governments are the most greedy of all existing institutions. Take a look at the City of Minot, they promise property tax relief but never, ever provide it. It's a scam and it is the same for tobacco. Suffice it to say that the gov is no longer there for you, but just for them. You're chattel. If it's to curb your smoking habit or if it's to 'help' you with your healthcare, the gov is not there for you, just for them. It means the end of your freedom, in other words.

That's all.

Kinda wondering about that second hand smoke thingy? Well, that is interesting. So, maybe the DWI laws are an infringement too. Or, maybe speeding takes away your right. When you do things that infringe on the health and welfare of others, then it is not to be regulated. Well, let people buy bazookas or missiles. yep, lets do it , boys.

I grind my teeth every time I see, read or hear the "don't smoke, it's bad for everyone" ads. Spending Big Tobacco's money for "education" was a condition of the lawsuit won by ND's attorney general at the time, Heidi Heitkamp.

Just a short while back, the state got in trouble for trying to divert some of the lawsuit funds away from these "education" efforts and got their hands slapped for the attempt.

I say if tobacco is SO BAD for you (and it is not healthy - I quit years ago), then BAN the substance and quit the sin taxes and the tobacco farmers' subsidies.

I agree with the statement about moving upwind if someone's smoke bothers me. And there's no more worries about smoking in restaurants or bars. It's pretty good for non-smokers nowadays.
