Weeds are out of control

August 25, 2013

Gary Panasuk, Minot It’s amazing to read that the mayor thinks the city has to ask the oil field people how to cut weeds on city lots, or maybe we have to hire a consultant to figure it out....

Here's what I don't get.....the houses that are overrun by weeds belong to someone. That person should be held responsible. But then that would mean enforcement of law, which seems to be a foreign concept.

Gary, I have made phones calls to the city many times since the first of June and have talked directly to a person, or each time they have returned my call. They have been slow to cut grass, granted, Dan should be proactive in his approach to the weeds; esp the second year out; but they are or someone is attacking the weeds along the river bed, FINALLY. and First district has been actively persuing complaints about debris in yards. The mayor didn't ast oil companies how to cut weeds. He asked them to volunteer to CUT weeds. good PR for the oil companies. The mayor shouldn't have to get involved if the city officials in charge of such areas would be on the ball.

The real sad part of weed complaints Gary are the ones that come from out of the flood plain and the home owners can't get it right.
