Zimbelman says he won't run for re-election in 2014

In Minot the city manager is supposed to run the city at the direction of city council. The mayor is really a figurehead with only the power to break a tie vote and give recommendations which the past few years the council has not heeded. I agree - if you can do a great job as mayor or council person - then run.

He wasn't outstanding but did okay with what was going on. I think it would be great if the critics would put themselves out there and try running for office. Go it a go; show everyone what YOU know!

No about spending monies for private entities that say they are for the addition, it's not about Walmart at all. It's about gaining respect and sympathy from our Alderman and how they represent the people. They don't have it at all in certain parts of Minot.

I imagine he will run for a better paying office job with the State or even Federal government. He is groomed and has a good grasp on deception, my guess he will try to follow Hoevan.

I am thrilled to see that he won't be running for re-election. The guy didn't know anything about running a city.

I don't blame the mayor for not wanting to run again. The Alderman haven't heeded some of his cautions. In addition, I am sure he is sick of people coming into his office at his regular work as the Alderman aren't representing the people in some districts as they should.
