Perhaps it could be said that we as a society are evolving on the subject of abortion, just like we did on the issue of slavery.

To those who protest the death penalty and any state that has it. Then you must also oppose Thomas Jefferson, "Society [has] a right to erase from the roll of its members any one who rendered his own existence inconsistent with theirs; to withdraw from him the protection of their laws, and to remove him from among them by exile, or even by death if necessary."--Thomas Jefferson He also thought castration was the fit punishment for rape.

The difference is the person on death row had due process of law, whereas the aborted child is sentenced to death without due process of law. Under the ND century code 12.1-17.1-02: A person is guilty of murder of an unborn child, a class AA felony, if the person: a. Intentionally or knowingly causes the death of an unborn child; b. Causes the death of an unborn child under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of the life of the unborn child or the pregnant woman; (ect….)

The irony is pro choicer’s think only a girls/woman’s body is protected by the constitution and it only applies the right to kill a baby, regardless of the females age. I have never heard them crying privacy if it has to do with businesses who have restrictions on visible body piercings or tattoos, that can lead to the termination of employment, or minor children, as in under age 18, require parental consent before getting a piercing or tattoo . Why do they not cry privacy in regards to any other surgical procedure on a minor child requires parental consent?

"... let's start banning men from "choking the chicken" (Yes, MDN that's for you)..."

Better run that one past your significant other, especially if the intended effect is to drive him back in the sack with you. Given the choice, he may give it up altogether.

That last one was just a continuation of my previous comment to Sub, that got broken up by Curly's discourteous insertion.

Just kidding, Curly.

Abortion is also an act. Some people regard it as murder or just as evil, but because the act occurs inside the womb, in most cases, it is perfectly legal. This is because in the eyes of the law, the person is not regarded as a real human being. Many states at one time had laws against abortion, but in Roe v Wade, the Supreme Court decided that the court would be the sole arbitrator of when life begins.

Some states are now challenging this power grab. North Dakota is one of those states.

Here's an idea. Why don't we ban the act of abortion, but we won't prevent anyone from owning a scapula. Then if you can come up with a legitimate use for a scapula (other than abortion), let us all know, so everyone will want to own one.

Life is not started until the sperm and an egg unite. Huge difference! A women who has her monthly time loses an egg but unfertilized, it is just that, an egg. Sperm is the same. Just a glob of unfinished swimmers.

Will, I do not agree with Rick Perry or anyone else who favors killing. There is one difference. Abortion does kill the innocent, the death sentence kills the found guilty.

Gee Matt, might be because guns also serve some legitimate purposes in society. Pay attention, and I'll educate you.

A gun is a thing. By itself, it is incapable of doing evil things. By keeping guns legal, we keep guns in the hands of people who don't ordinarily break laws (we'll call those people the good guys). By outlawing guns, we assure that guns are used only by people who frequently break laws (we'll call those people the bad guys).

Murder is an act. It is the unjustified taking of a life. It's against the law, yet some people do it anyway. Most people don't believe murder should be legalized, even though we'll never be able to eliminate all murders. Some murders are committed by gun. However, Many times, guns are used to prevent murders.

Ok all you pro-BIRTHERS....your SOOOOO CONCERNED about life, how about this....The ONLY way that a woman can make a life is with a man, and since the MAN is RESPONSIBLE for "making" that life, let's start banning men from "choking the chicken" (Yes, MDN that's for you).

Let's make NEW laws, that ALL men everytime they leave their house,or a bathroom, or go to work they have to go thru a detecter does checks for semen, and since life is SO PRECIOUS to all of you "birthers", let's start jailing men for doing this...HOW DARE THEY JUST "THROW" AWAY A LIFE!!!!

Lori, to be sure, Jackaaah is speaking with tongue in cheek. He has done so since the last election. He can better show his 'transformation' than I can. If you are new to MDN, welcome. And, I hope you can get the right read on Jack because you will enjoy it!

To anyone who has had an abortion or has been involved in an abortion and is struggling with guilt, remorse, depression or whatever, there is hope in the precious love and mercy of Jesus Christ. Turn to him and ask for his forgiveness. Tell others that abortion is never the answer and know that your child is not dead, but is now in the arms of our heavenly Father in heaven.

Lori Stein commenting: to JachAaah. I'm sure you know where babies come from, so yes if one engages in sex and they are not 100% sure that such behavior will result in a pregnancy, whose fault is it that a pregnancy takes place? The child that is conceived or the two people who produced that child. Let's be adults about this and realize that choices have consequences, some of which are having a child that was unplanned. I don't think we should kill that child because its parents were irresponsible.

There is no decision to be made for a women. A life is a life and killing is killing. Unless the life of the mother is at stake, there should be no debate.
