You bring no facts to the blog, loco, and you never, never answer any question. A big bag of hot air.

centerish, you can't prove what you say, can you?

It seems a nasty demeanor and a vivid imagination are all that's necessary when lefties attempt dialogue with those that don't share their viewpoint.

Keep hanging around that corral, centerish, where you found the bull. The pink cowgirl boots won't stay pink for long.

Well, since it has been talked about on this blog off and on each year for four years, you must have just gotten on the blog last week. Your statement is a bunch of bull. Just like you.

No, centerish, in spite of your fond wishes, I wasn't here on MDN talking about Clinton/Bush involvement in 9/11.

Is your hat big enough to cover you when your liberty ends? Maybe you'd like to be more hat and less cowgirl right about then...

That is a really nice quote, loco. Your philosophy too? Weren't you involved in the discussion as whether Clinton was a partial cause of 9/11 or was Bush not responsible for part of the problem. You must have had some opinion on that. But, you want all your freedoms without the security that the NSA, CIA, and other organization provide you.? Ya Right... All hat and no cowboy!!

"...the reason you might be somewhat unaware is because it really hasn't affected you, has it?"

Veritas, I'd say most citizens haven't been affected...yet. And as far as spy games going on for millenia, sure.

As long as there have been gov'ts, there have been spies - nosy people who are either hired or who volunteer to snoop on their fellow men and women.

Side note: we caught some of Ken Burns' Civil War on PBS over the weekend. The spies for both the Union and Confederacy were all in for their causes. Many lost their lives as a result of their spying activities.

If things started "affecting" more citizens, then we'd see more concern about this issue. Until then, it's not that important to most.

Even centerish doesn't mind certain activities as long as she's secure. A paraphrase of what Ben Franklin once said...

"He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither."

Come on you clowns, get real. the Guy lives in Crosby on the Canadian (drug alley) border. Yes, I want drones patrolling both the north and the south borders. I want illegal immigration stopped. I want to know when someone who is already here wants to terrorize the rest of us. Get over your conspiracy garbage and the rest of things. I will trade security for drones any day. Oh, and that do-nothing congress acts like they really care about this country. They don't! They always want to do things for the big corporations and the rich so they can stay in office. When the next terrorist attack hits, you all will be grousing that the President did not do enough. You argued for years about Clinton or Bush and 9/11. As to paranoid mr Crosby. If you do break the law, don't write about it.

So the current POTUS cannot do anything, because it's too big a problem, and because he's already a Lame Duck? In the first year of his second term? That's convenient, to say the least.

As far as Congress doing what they could be doing, perhaps they've started, what with the investigating, testimony, etc. It's been interesting to find out how long this has been going on, for instance.

Veritas: "I agree loco...This issue needs some serious debate and perhaps the next POTUS needs to make it a platform issue..."

So you deflect to what is Congress, the 535, going to do, when action by the current POTUS is suggested.

That must be your default setting.

If memory serves, the POTUS last term of office (2008-2012) was Pres. Barack Obama.

Is that the president that willgrr meant by asking "What was the last one doing?????"

Or was he referring to the Democratic default, former Pres. Bush?

Do we even need to guess?

I think it would be a great idea for the current POTUS to put the brakes on this, especially since Pres. Bush started it.

What a feather in Pres. Obama's cap! Doing away with this intrusiveness and re-establishing the trust of the American people, perhaps all by the stroke of his pen on an executive order?

Could it be done? If so, what is he waiting for?

It is a violation of the fourth amendment and the gov is criminal for doing it. They're going to do it anyway because we have a criminal government. It is illegal for the gov to surreptitiously gather information on you.
