Mary Graner, if you were a young girl raped by your priest or a relative could you carry that baby full term? Would you get all the help and understanding from all "those so called righteous nonjudgmental talk behind your back good church going christian believers"? I doubt it!! How about if it was your daughter? It puts a whole different light on things doesn't it?

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a national organization representing thousands of women’s health experts, has publicly come out against the state-level abortion restrictions that impact the way doctors are allowed to treat their patients. The group’s Executive Board has issued an official statement opposing all laws that “unduly interfere with patient-physician relationships” and compromise patients’ health care for political gain.

“Given the relentless legislative assault on the patient-physician relationship that we’ve seen in the past few years — and unfortunately continue to see — we were compelled to issue a formal Statement of Policy,” the group’s president, Dr. Jeanne A. Conry, explained in a press release. “A disproportionate number of these types of laws are aimed at women’s reproductive rights and the physicians that provide women’s health care services.”

In its formal statement, the doctors’ group criticized specific pieces of anti-abortion legislation that comes between women and their doctors — including forced ultrasound laws that require women seeking abortions to look at an image of their fetus before continuing with the medical procedure, “disclosure” laws that require doctors to tell women about the scientifically disputed link between abortion and breast cancer, and laws that require doctors to use an outdated procedure for administering the abortion pill. The OB-GYNs point out that these type of laws allow legislators, instead of doctors, to set medical protocol. When doctors aren’t allowed to follow the current accepted medical practice because of a politically-motivated law, they aren’t able to provide their patients with the best quality of care. That dynamic has contributed to a serious shortage of women’s health doctors in states with harsh abortion restrictions, since medical professionals would rather avoid situatio

Wow, soon there will be help in Minot, nice to see the timely response to need there.

Life beginning at conception is scientifically proven? No, life is a continuum without beginning. All lifecycle charts would include eggs and sperm as part of the lifecycle.

When faced with a tough decision, it's not even close, the vast majority of people faced with having a Down's syndrome baby have an abortion. In ND they either have a friendly doctor do it without reporting it or they travel out of state, but no question, we know the rates of Down's syndrome by age and most are aborted.

From icart's post: "Government should stay out of imposing its political agenda on medical practice."

If we're talking obamacare mandates, I couldn't agree more.

icart, why would I read the whole article when I can read your post? I'm sure you included everything pertinent to the discussion, right?

My comment was made tongue-in-cheek, as I don't agree with Dr. Conry's point of view nor do I agree with mandated healthcare by gov't decree.

At least I called Dr. Conry by his title, instead of resorting to childish crudeness, like at least one poster I could name.

Well durn it, iCart! I wish I woulda knowed you was going to go out and find you one of them bona fide REAL PROFESSIONALs to explain to us hayseed "birthers" just how backward we are `bout our views on abortion.

In this case, being professional means just that he's just that much more invested in the lie.

"I just love these pro lifers. They are*****bent on forcing women to have kids they don't want, "

So which is it NoTea? The good doctor wants us to believe it's always about the mother's health. I think you're closer to the mark with your analysis: disposable babies. That's usually what it's about.

And of course, the only alternative to slicing and dicing is the comforting lap of the welfare state.

Sometimes I find it hard to believe that even you can't smell the crap you're spewing.

I find it H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S that all you Pro-birthers have NO PROBLEM with the government coming in and telling a woman what she can or can't do with her body...FORCING her to be raped by her government with trans-vag ultrasounds...

BUT..get your panties all bunched up when you find out the NSA has been "spying" on us....HELLO...They have been doing that since the 1950's, and NOW, you have outrage??? Your BVD's get all twisted when you think "Obama's coming fer yer guns"...Yeah, right!!

You all "Talk" about the constitution, and even quote from it....Guess what, Abortion is IN the constitution also!!!

The choice of a woman to do what she wants with HER body, is HER choice!!! It's between her, her doctor, her family, and her god...It's NOT between you and congress!!!!

Now, THAT'S "Making the right CHOICE"

iCart. What is that constitutional basis for a woman's right to exterminate her baby? I know the Supreme Court's interpretation and application of the 14th amendment. You obviously support it, so explain it to us in a way that will help us all to see the light.

Speaking for God, Mary Graner of Minot has pronounced: "It is a scientific fact that life begins at conception."

Now, if Ms. Graner -- self-appointed mouthpiece for God -- would only enlighten us as to when conception begins, we could close this debate now and forever.

icart, I've read the recent legislation passed and signed by ND's governor. What you're spouting is a pro-abortion talking point only. Your assertion of "gov't force" is not in the ND legislation.

Yeah, OK loco....Just because you CHOOSE to "cherry-pick" what you read, or CHOOSE to listen to the "talking points" of the right-wing nutjobs, like Dalpimple, Maggot Sh*te, even Mary Graner, DOES NOT make you "well-informed"!!!! But then again, at least you have the CHOICE to CHOOSE who and what you listen too...hhhmmm???? (Choice....Choose) Sure glad to live in the U.S. where YOU can do that...What a country!!!!

Let me ask you one question....HOW do you think that they "detect a heartbeat" at 6 weeks????hhhmmmm??

Oh yeah....That would make the GOVERNMENT FORCING ultrasounds!!!!!! What's so hard to "understand"??? Our state legislatures, (just in case you didn't know...that would be the GOVERNMENT) REQUIRES doctors, (just in case you didn't know...those are people who study MEDICINE for 8 years in a C-O-L-L-E-G-E) to detect a heartbeat before performing a procedure which is CONSTITUTIONALLY PROTECTED RIGHT OF EVERY WOMAN!!!!

icart, just because you suppose that a trans-vag ultrasound will be the only way a doctor will determine fetal heartbeat doesn't mean that a tvu will always be used by every doctor every time. Thus, the force of your assertion grows less.

Have you considered that what you want so badly to be a fact might just not be so? Your emotional dedication to a supposed abortion right is clouding your judgment.
