The IRS’ abuse of power

May 27, 2013

Rest assured that if liberal political organizations had been harassed last year by the Internal Revenue Service, heads would have rolled, on President Barack Obama’s orders....

Well, you can sure tell when the far right is losing their grip on the made up problems. Come to find out the FBI supoenas for the Fox news man was out lined to fox news three years ago. Guess we will not hear about that too often. And now the FAR right press needs to dig into the IRS so called scandal. What about the applicants who apply for status and lie about their intentions: {As part of our reporting on dark money in 2012, ProPublica looked at more than 100 applications for IRS recognition. One thing we noted again and again: "Groups tell the IRS that they are not going to spend money on elections, receive IRS recognition, and then turn around and spend money on elections"} Now there is the real scandal- just ask the Koch's or Karl Rover with Crossroads... Now there is the real problem.

Why is it the left is always looking over their shoulder?

If they get caught they find the proper defense is to blame the Republicans and Bush.

Nothing is ever their fault.

And Obama wants to stop Bullying.. Why doesn't he Stop himself from all his disingenuous actions.

Dear Leader is the biggest promoter of these criminal actions taking place under his term. Benghazi.. He let people die to protect himself in an election and has tried to cover it up. Its coming out folks.

He promoted in his speeches to "stop" the Tea party.. The IRS took him at his word.. That too is coming out.

He sic the DOJ on Fox news and he is now caught in that tangled web.

Obama is no Bernie Madoff.. He will answer a lot sooner then the 18 years Bernie got away with it..

Obama's day of reckoning is approaching..

Obama your Ponzi scheme is up for all to see now.. Wonder what will pop out of the White House next from this Criminal leader.

Extreme terrorists who claim to be members of the Muslim/Islam religion are feigning religious beliefs to promote and excuse rampant murder of Christians and those of the Jewish faith. If they come to live here in the United States, they need to believe and follow our freedom of religion that is written in the Constitution.

From last week’s House hearings on this:

Rep. Peter Roskam, R-IL: “How come only conservative groups got snagged?”

Outgoing acting IRS commissioner Steve Miller: “They didn’t sir. Organizations of all walks and all persuasions were pulled in. That’s shown by the fact that only 70 of the 300 organizations were tea party organizations, of the ones that were looked at by TIGTA [Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration].”

Bet you didn’t see that blasted all over your TV news that night.

Fact: Only 1/3 of the groups that were passed to specialists for a closer look were “conservative.” Lots of other organizations were also checked, including progressive organizations.

Fact: No groups were harmed. There were delays while the groups were checked to see if they should have special tax status. That’s it. But the rules are that they are allowed to operate as if they had that status while they waited for official approval.

Fact: According to the IG Report (p. 10) in the “majority of cases, we agreed that the applications submitted included indications of significant political campaign intervention.”

Maybe the IRS can investigate themselves, like Eric Holder is investigating himself. What a joke.

“It is also important to understand that the group of centralized cases included organizations of all political views,” the IRS said in its statement.

How does that statement comport with the opinion articles assertion that "... it was conservative groups - exclusively - that were targeted by the tax agency."? Huh?

Tell me "CON" how the opinion claim can be true? Expand your mind (such as it is) and admit the "opinion" piece is a lie plain and simple.

You blast in all caps LIBERAL/PROGRESSIVE as thought they are de facto disparaging terms. Tell me, do you honestly believe this country was found the most conservative thinkers of their day or the most forward/radical thinkers of their day? Which is it? clue: the conservatives sided with the British.

Bunch of C/P ing, but here goes.

Look at the Bill of Rights. Almost all of its provisions are protections for accused criminals. The Constitution was designed to make it hard to convict someone of a crime, not make it easy. me(well, that's not right, convictions should be easier---conservative idea)

The Constitution was designed by the Framers to be a radically progressive document. The founding generation was comprised of revolutionaries, people who sought to make a new system of government that broadened rights rather than limited them. ( yeah, there's a liberal idea. God gave you all the rights you need, so shut up commie/pinko)---a little channelling.

Ok.

A free press. liberal idea Unreasonable search and seizure. liberal idea

Amend. XIX Women's rights (ok, one mistake) ;)

I can see Veritas' frustration with you people, what a bunch of .....

From the NYTimes (a thoroughly discredited news organization right?)

"The I.R.S. is already separately reviewing roughly 300 tax-exempt groups that may have engaged in improper campaign activity in past years, according to agency planning documents. Some election lawyers said they believed a wave of lawsuits against the I.R.S. and intensifying Congressional criticism of its handling of applications were intended in part to derail those audits, giving political nonprofit organizations a freer hand during the 2014 campaign."

Could that be the 300 number mentioned in an earlier post? Probably. Look it up CON. get your facts CON.

The opinion piece is a sham. Face it.

NoTea4Me consistently uses the disparaging, vulgar term "tea baggers'. One has to wonder how he knows so much about the term. Not saying being gay is wrong. But he should make a disclaimer statement that he obviously is gay before using a derogatory homosexual term when posting comments. Have a good day!

Now, Billydontgetit, if it is wrong, then surely you could prove it by not only showing the factual information but also the citations where we could also look it up. We won't hold our breath waiting since you cannot do it.

Speaking of abuse of power . . .

This supposed "community newspaper" is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the rabid, right-wing Republicans who daily pick our pockets.

The MDN complaining about an abuse of power is like Rick Berg complaining about a slumlord.

So, billdon'tevererenevergetit.... you must have been hiding behind the barn door when the facts came out on Acorn. I suppose you are a birther too... that would make sense based on your inane comments. Acorn was a bunch of lies put forth by the right wing media to stir up their base. Obviously, bill, you swallowed it too. You still don't have any facts to refute the comments even though you said they were false... haha on you.
