I dont understand the poll thats online asking for peoples input weather we think the county should help the Rice Lake folks. Or if it was dumb to build on a closed, spring fed lake. If thats the case why did we build a city right in the middle of a river valley and expect help when it flooded?

EarlyBird...I agree with you 100%. I think our city leaders are just trying to "hype" the population growth that they wish was happening in Minot. Perfect example is ever since Williston started getting jet service from Delta and United, Williston's airport boardings have skyrocketed and Minot's have dropped significantly. But Minot will still go ahead with the "bigger and better" airport terminal than Bismarck and get it built as fast as possible before the boarding numbers drop back down to where they normally would be.

So if the state is so on top of the population growth, why is nothing being done about the RIDICULOUS cost of living here in MINOT ND!! When will something be done about rent rates??!!!!

When the housing developments are finished in the actual oil country in western ND people will move closer to work. This estimate in my estimation is just trying to justify being the largest hog at the trough. Minot just seems busy because it is the main shopping district for many miles around.
