About 5-6 years ago the original idea was to have a multitude of natural gas powered electric generators right at the oil-gas wells which are the source of the natural gas. There are already electric lines to producing wells to hook up to. Whats the hold up with that great idea? I know there are several companies busy doing that right now. Lets focus on what makes sense please.

The company I worked for had a fleet of natural gas vans. Not good. NO power and we had to fill after only driving a short time. Huge tank to carry around with you, unless they made some huge improvments, it is a bust. We went back to gas powered vans in a year.

if would catch on, govt will end up taxing it more. easier to hide (and raise) the amt of tax if the price is low. most people can't tell you what the state and fed gas tax rates are. they just blame the oil companies for everything instead.
