Well, birdy, I also grew up in that era and as with most things (including Bush), Bill Guy got better and better with age. As I remember it, Bill came to Bismarck as a farmer from Casselton and returned as a multi-millionaire farmer from Casselton. The era began an escalation of the good old boy system and Guy played it to the hilt. I was impressed that after his service he went home and enjoyed life without going to Washington. There was always a payday in the system back in his day.

My condolences to the Family of Governor Guy. He must have been very actively governing because we sure heard his name allot when we were kids back in the early 60's. I remember everybody seeming very positive about him but I have no memory of what he was doing. RIP Governor Guy
