After the village is moved and the state fair board has control of the 2 acres, I will bet 100 billion dollars that those 2 acres will be filled with recreational equipment or some other commercial display, and a commercial purpose will be established for those 2 acres and not really friendly to fair goers as is the village.

Just a hunch, but I'm sure that is what is going to happen.

Maybe the state fair board should come clean and clearly state their intentions. They say they want to construct a convention center, but there may be some other reason too. What is the NDSF board good for other than telling the Ward County Historical Society to take a hike?

The NDSF board needs to be replaced. Much better problem solver and the the controversy that it has created has damaged their reputation, their credibility.

Replace the members of the state fair board and move on from there. In other words, fire them.

The state fair can still move to a new place though.

Sacrilege! Blasphemer! No state fair? Nonsense! Tear down the village and make room for Darrel's Racing Pigs!

Seriously though, saving the village should be as easy as finding out to whom the State Fair Board is accountable. If they operate under complete autonomy, there is something wrong. Ultimately, they should answer to the people of the state (assuming it is their will to keep the village alive). But that means almost nothing if the board has layers of bureaucracy insulating it from the public.

The NDSF is no longer capable of being a good neighbor to Minot and Ward County and it is probably a good idea for the NDSF to find a new venue.

A Ward County Fair is a title that sounds better for this area these days.

The NDSF can find a new home and the Ward County Historical Society can become the new Ward County Fair Board and request the NDSF leave the premises. Wouldn't hurt my feelings.
