April 12, 2013

When the U.S. Postal Service announced months ago that it would end mail delivery on Saturdays, critics of the plan said the agency didn’t have the authority to make that decision....

Normal had disappeared during the Obama years. Republicans duly submitted annual budgets, which the president then used for target practice, most famously demagoguing Paul Ryan's 2011 budget as un-American. Meanwhile, the Democratic-controlled Senate simply stopped producing budgets for four years. And the ones the White House put out were so preposterous that, for example, the 2011 version was rejected by the Senate 97-0.

Those pesky Republicans keep demanding a budget.. Imagine that?

I read this and I think back to the days of slavery here in the USA. The Republicans freed the slaves.. Yet once they were free they chose to follow the Democrats who are he&& bent on making laws for these people to live by.

I find it refreshing that the Congress forces the Government (Post office) to FUND their own healthcare and retirement rather then raising taxes on the people to pay these Government employees way.

Its a way of NOT making the taxpayer a slave to the Postal Service. Maybe just once the Government got something right by forcing them to FUND THEIR OWN plans..

I would really like for one of you wingers to refute the facts put forth by veritas on 12-12 8:07. Five of you have checked disagree but you provide nothing to refute the statement. Is it because as usual, you have NOTHING>

Our congress writes the rules for USPS. Our congress has become so inept at the least bit of management requirements that maybe we need to review the way it works.

1. Would eliminating super PACS Help? 2. Would term limits help? (2 or 3 term limit} 4. Privatize USPS? 5. Is paper on the way out anyway? (environmentally bad and technically not as needed anymore due to email and internet)Maybe cheaper to give everyone a pc or secure terminal than pay someone to come to the door and all that entails.

I am getting pretty bored with our politicians and find it hard to believe that something so seemingly simple from a business point of view has made everyone look so foolish. And I mean everyone!
