Be alert the hypocrisy is about to begin. No action by the republican controlled legislature to address flood control in the valley other than denying state funds unless the feds pony up first. Republicans have always insisted that the Feds put up first and a higher percentage that authorized by Congress. All this while berating federal "earmarking" and demanding draconian cuts in federal domestic discretionary funding. ND Republican leaders will be the first to line up at the Federal Pay window!

Wouldn't need to worry too much about a "Statewide Flood Emergency" if people would quit building, rebuilding, and rebuilding AGAIN in a flood zone...

Here we go folks! Saskatchewan has had record snowfall and is preparing for major flooding. Where is that water headed? It will warm up in no time and Minot isn't ready.

Knew I wasn't paranoid. My acquisition of storage space on North Hill last week was a good investment.

I wonder if the Govenor and ND Representatives will decline any federal aide unless there is first offsetting cuts in the budget; or is that only a stipulation they have if a Blue state is flooded. Besides with ND huge surpluses they brag about you wouldn't think they would want federal welfare from Obama.

Now there is a good Governor. He prepares for the worst in advance.

Notice he didnt say he was sending for Obama to come and do something.
