Early, I liked your post. It was a day-brightener for me. Common sense can do that...

We can take the political parties out of government and we would still have people who love to control other people. We need to do a better job of analyzing our candidates true personalities before we give them authority.

Just ask any Native American how great of a job the government does taking care of people.

Nothing confusing about them at all. They do it for the money.

North Dakotans are not going to see a penny of the oil taxes collected.

Gov at all levels have their eyes peeled on that moola and are seeking every possible way to grab as much as they possibly can. Ward County asked for some. The North Dakota Teacher's Pension Fund is eyeing the oil money after taking a shellacking in the market and losing their shorts.

Suffice it to say that a deal has been made with the devil and it's too late.

Western North Dakota is a future Love Canal and all of the propaganda that is delivered daily through radio and tv with the 'oil can' campaign isn't going to change it. It'll be the mother of all Superfund sites.

Republicans, or the kids that seem to think they are, can be blamed.

Note to Heidi: You can't legislate morality.

"...potential for life is not the same as life."

I'd like to see a few reasons why this statement should even be taken seriously.

For instance, when does "potential" change into "life?"

"Potential" energy has one thing in common with "kinetic" energy: they are both "energy." One will be energy; one is energy.

A fetus is already alive, by its movements and continued development. Years ago, this moving/developing was called "quickening" which is a synonym for "living."

It doesn't seem like rocket science, but to some who wish to do away with an inconvenience, it becomes harder than it really is.

The thing that bothers me is that the argument abortion kills a baby is fundamentally flawed. The abortions we allow terminate a fetus: potential for life is not the same as life.

repulicans believe they are saving unborn children, but despise the living children cast into poverty. The only thing republicans really care about is their money and guns. They want to pay no taxes, but want the cops or fireman to show up when they need them; just as long as they don't need to pay them a living wage. republicans are the scourge of this planet and should be purged in the name of mankind!

Just because we don't believe in killing babies doesn't mean we believe in a nanny state. It is after all the responsiblity of the parents to raise and provide for their children, not the state! This isn't Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union yet where the state raises and cares for your kids. Sadly some seem to think it is.
