Hmmm, let me see: Social Security, Medicare, veterans benefits, is that three? Probably a retired non-union employee.

You are sooooo good loco.. I did embellish. But, with the income gap continuing to expand and the rich getting much richer and the 47% just out there sucking off the welfare, it probably is 49% now. Thanks for being so alert.

Let's have cuts to taxpayers subsidizing private newspaper companies.

centerish, your figure should be 47%. The election wasn't that long ago.

An interesting concept on the subsidies is that the righties/lefties don't support them, but their representatives do. Kinda like background checks that are supported by 90% of the people and not by the congress. We are the 49% that Romney was talking about. That would include dusty/loco/and even animal. That's right, you are included in the 49% that the Republicans don't care about. Get your income up over a million or ten and the Republicans will include you.

"I say CUT these programs and let them compete in free markets like it should have been in the first place!"

Veritas, I agree with this philosophy. Subsidies are very firmly entrenched in our economy's ways, but the free market should be the place where supply and demand are determined.

If the "slash subsidies" knife would be applied across the board to all corporate entities, even those favored by political parties, I'm in. And I think eloquent spokesmen like you should be talking to Sens. and Reps. to encourage equality in those subsidy cuts.

I'm not patronizing you or being sarcastic. I'm serious. Can subsidies die, or are they a financial version of Twilight characters?

Quote from Boehnor: I got 98% of what I wanted!!! Referencing the sequester bill.
