Great article. The chancellor was reported to have told his subordinates to stifle it. Then supporters of his said the same of the students. This is the USA. When you infringe on freedom of speach--you are in the wrong country.

Is it the job of our legislators to listen, worry about college/university students, the actions of universities, university mascots, universities and so forth? No, it's the job of the Universities, the alumni, students and so forth who hold interests in these schools and so forth. It is not your job to worry about the state of the college system. Did you go to North Dakota schools? Why should we hold an iterest in something of the state when there are bigger issues out there that effect all citizens of this great state like housing shortages, property tax hikes, corrupt government and so forth. I am sorry you don't see other state governments getting into disputes of college/university systems. It's those people who go to school now, their fellow educators, the alumni who pay in each year and so forth to care about the systems. It's not your jobs to oooh and ahh over some petty issue. It's time to give it a rest and move on.

At least these students haven’t yet been bought off by some special interest group.
