highwater, it is too bad that youdon't read the paper. The name was in print. He voted no because he felt people of Minot should be able to vote on the matter.

Don't forget these are the same people making these predictions that missed the flood a couple years ago. I have no trust in the so called experts. Just to be helpful to the experts when water flow is stopped or interrupted it causes water levels to raise behind the obstruction. So if there is downstream flooding causing a raised water elevation the water coming downstream is not going past that elevation but will instead be somewhat obstructed causing the water to raise up stream also. Do you get my drift?

no it won't be brought to the people for a vote. the taxmasters know best and if we are going to keep paying people to retire in their early 50's, we'll need massive new "revenue". "Why Not Minot ? - Because "we' will tax you to your knees."

It "SHOULD" behave..what if it doesnt' behave?...I heard a short note on the local news the other night that the Minot city council passed a new one cent sales tax for flood control...1 council member voted NO on the measure,BUT the news didn't mention his/her name, for whatever reasons I don't know why...a very rare occurence with this tight knit city council normally voting 13-0 on everything...does anyone know who the dissenter is,and do you think this will eventually be brought to a vote of the people of Minot???
