Health care law should be repealed

March 1, 2013

Calls for repeal of “Obamacare,” the president’s national health care takeover, seemed to fade away after President Barack Obama was re-elected last November....

How can someone that knows anything about the "Affordable Care Act" call it a government takeover of healthcare? The care is provided by insurance companies! That's part of the problem with it. Medicare for all!

Loco I don't find your opinions easily ignored. I welcome them and am glad to see the banter. Its healthy.. Wish Obama could be more across the isle and at least stay home when the country is going broke. But that's a waste of wishes.

Romney hit the nail on the head when he stated yesterday that Obama should be in the room day after day after day till deals are hammered out. Bad thing is Obama has only one vision that's his and to h e l l with all the rest of the people we hired to do a job in DC.

Typical attributes of a dictator!!!

he just expects everyone else to do the work and he will take the credit. Been that way all thru his 1st term and now going into his second term. He is a dictator not a leader...

billdoesnt, I think what JustaMan is referring to are the editorials published by the MDN that we all get to comment on, agree or disagree with afterwards.

Yes, I can truthfully say I've not authored one of those published MDN editorials. Why? I'm not a G. Ogden Nutting.

I like Heidi Heitkamp. I'm not blind to her ND political history and credentials. I support ND's newest Senator and wish her and her family the best.

As far as going way back to 2011 with billgrr, I guess I can be impressed. Maybe. And I've seen the JustaMan moniker on other ND newspaper websites. Not clear back to 2011 though...

Have a great snowy day all!

justaman you made this comment

"You do not submit editorials locomotive"

Would you care to explain why you think Loco didn't author some of the editorials written here?

Just curious how you would know that?

locomotive; Bill Garr & I go back to Nov. 2011, roughly the same time Rick Berg decided to run for the Senate seat. How did that turn out?

You do not submit editorials locomotive, therefore you have an opinion that is easily ignored.

I am more interested in origins and the the results of such. How content affects the discontented.

Rate of increases in health care have been lower since Obamacare started than the years preceeding. Trying to scare with up to 13%, wow, I remember a 43.2% increase. Close to $500 a month. That actually wasn't the biggest increase I ever had, that came when I left a job and the insurane company wanted to get rid of me.

We can't continue with things the way they were. We are spending at least twice as much as is needed.

JustaMan, I'm forever in your debt for taking me (and me) out of billgrr's cross-hairs.

That Ogden fellow in WV? Little did he know that by editorializing in multiple newspapers, he'd end up as the king of all enablers.

Eureka! billgrr, I've discovered your Sybil. Follow me now: he is the same persona, with multiple venues. It's elementary...

No, no need to thank me. Have a great evening!

You could be accounting for the majority of the offensive messages.

justaman or women or whatever?

Can you find it in your heart to tell the REST of the story. Your a typical Democrat.. Throw out the dirt but then hold on to the fine print hoping you have captured an audience of people dumber then you that would belive your garbage.

And now for the rest of the story:

The authors of the study are quick to point out that they measured only tweets, not individuals, so it’s possible that a small group of disaffected bigots could be accounting for the majority of the offensive messages.

Ya justaman maybe it was you and wily billy

Funny how a liberal can take a message and turn it into a hate speech.

Either they have thin skins or just thin brain waves..not sure which.

Whether the Editorial is about coal, PPACA,Keystone XL,2nd Amendment rights or any other so called newsworthy event, you can count on a skewed bias presented from the Editorial Staff (Never signed by the way) with target "Obama" in it's sight.

What's really interesting is when you analize Ogden's other posting sights, the Minot Daily News is by far the 'right-wing' leader of the bunch. There simply is not enough support from their viewers to saturate the columns like at MDN.

Feeding the trolls (once thought as unprofessional journalism) or, giving it's readers what they want?

Those are the questions as North Dakota ranks in the top seven states where hate-blogs originate.

Judging by that lorexx poster (aka billdoesntgetit) and others, it seems as they (local or board editors) are giving them what they want!

Bill Garr, the true enabler here is G. Ogden Nutting, patriarch of the family which owns Ogden Newspapers.

Ogden Newspapers which started as a family company, publishes 40 daily newspapers to include the Minot Daily News.

"The daily editorial is sometimes so hateful and bias that you can’t stand to read it."

"This man is the scourge of the newspaper industry in many states. … With a carpetbagger mentality, and the values of an old school WV coal baron."

Last May, the chain was involved in a controversy of a different kind, when the Warren Times-Observer published an apparent assassination threat in the form of a classified ad reading, “May Obama follow in the footsteps of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy!”

I think that is the point of Obamacare....to draw the entire population into the pool...instead of just the YOUNG,OLD and the SICK....the healthy taxpayers are paying for these 5 or 10 percent that are sucking up all the money in the system...so why shouldn't they be covered just in case they fall SICK?

"Oh I see. If you don't make a stupid racist statement for 5 minutes, you're no longer and idiot?"

Mr. Bill, who is "you" in your sentence above?

Still the next topic: shotgun vs. rifle

Salient point: billgrr is the only one introducing the topic of race into this article. Period.

Now he'll try the same ol' same ol' about how I support someone else's posts all the time...which I don't.

The health care law repealed? Things might have gone too far for that. It was approved in 2010, and many of its provisions have already been implemented.

Could a person hope? Sure. Why not?

Leftwings out trying to set a trap.

I did a gotcha on Bill garr a few days ago and his twin leftwing wants to try get one of us in a trap.

Question Does Harry Reid get medical insurance included in his job title?

If so who pays Harry Reids wages?

If he gets it and I pay the bill for him to have a job and for his health care he gets FREE health care.

Doesn't cost the slime bug one tiny nickle..

Lefty, now you are talking about disabled Veterans, that is in this case more than well earned income is called unearned income where an employee has earned income. For the sake of God I hope the DAV's are not taxed, I think they gave and we received from them more than anyone should have to give. Some gave it all and some give more than all. My utmost Respect goes to our Veterans who were on the battlefields securing that same Respect from all the Nations of the Earth.
