MarkHighwater- as an NDSU Student, we are very upset with Shirvani. Our Student Government, along with NDSCS and Minot State are the three institutions to pass their own votes of No Confidence aside from the North Dakota Student Association Vote. This is a System wide problem- 2 and 4 year schools alike.

Mark, really? Grindsberg, the double dipper, is from NDSU as is the student member of the board. They, along with our our tax evader are complaining about the chancellor.

Yeah, right, they did their homework. Sure they did. If he was fired here, then there, and even over there, it's a red flag.

Mr. Shirvani is bad news? Looks like it, doesn't it?

Muleskinnger, perhaps you should only comment on things you actually know for a fact.

In previous articles it was mentioned that the search committee DID look into issues at his previous locations. The California issue was a result of him making difficult budget cuts that were required to keep the college afloat. The cuts to certain programs made him very unpopular with students and teachers, but if not done would have destroyed the college.

The search committee discovered this and I'm guessing appreciated his desire to see his institutions succeed, even if his popularity suffered.

The North Dakota Board of Higher Education needs to fire him! They made a huge mistake hiring him. The bigger mistake would be to continue to let this mad man destroy our higher education system in this state.

He was asked to leave at the University of Colorado. He was asked to leave the California university system.

The North Dakota Board of Higher Education hired him anyway. The search committee failed to give Colorado and California a phone call and ask a few questions. Probably dereliction of duty on the part of the board, now there is a price to pay.

Mr. Shirvani has a check waiting for him. He can pick it up anytime.

There is somebody out there that can do the job of chancellor. The state board of higher education can begin anew and find a replacement.

Mr. Shivani's skill set is in question and his policies are being rejected.

The only solution is to find a new chancellor.
