More government, less government, whatever. Calavera is right on. Go back to the good times of Ronnie Reagan, you republican historians. He attacked labor unions, encouraged companies to go overseas AND he increased the size of government and added jobs and dollars to the economy by doing that. Almost every President who has run into economic problems has used that approach. Unfortunately, it works most of the time.

Still waiting for the "trickle down tax relief" to happen. Minot didn't get their state fund help for the county jail expansion. Did Mr. Goettle help the city of Minot out get any state funds for the city? Did he earn his money as our city lobbyist?

Listen, this is what "we" voted for remember? We had chance to vote to own our houses and get rid of a tax, we voted against it so how bad do you think the legislature wants to give us a tax break?

j, I agreed with some of what you said. RINO's and liberal/progressives are for big government. You lost me when you started with the talking bites. Money has been sent for road repairs, increases for law enforcement has been done and is being done. Health dept for newcomers? really? If they left their health care to come to ND, that was their choice. The letter writer is from Mandan. I wonder what his feelings were when Mandan gave Wal-mart a huge tax exemption?

If you believe that the republican party is the party of less government, less taxes and personal liberty, then you are sadly mistaken. Both the republicans and democrats have the same agenda: more government spending more money on things that the taxpayers don't need and don't want. And the crop of politicians in Bismarck is the worst. The money they have comes from the people, but they are reluctant to spend it for the betterment of the people. Where are the funds to fix the roads? Where are the funds for adequate law enforcement? Where are the funds for the health department so that it might meet the challenges brought on by all the newcomers to the state? The legislators know where it is and mean to keep it from being put to good use.
