Amy everything you wrote is true. I know recently, my sister & I went to see MAMA. We saw 8 kids under the age of 5 at the movie. Some would cry & scream at different points of the movie. I too had to speak up because the parents just ignored it. This also goes for restaurants, store & out in public in general. I know if my children ever were to act up, we would give one warning then leave. Don't see that much anymore.

Back in the days you used to have theaters with "ushers". If people acted up they would be "ushered out"! For the prices they charge now for tickets you should not have to put up with all of this nonsense! That is why I refuse to go to the theater I wait until it is on cable. Most of the movies created these days are worth watching anyway. No real true actors anymore.

Amy's preaching to the choir here.

I'm afraid we might end up seeing more of these behaviors rather than less, even as people speak up or try to encourage parents to be more responsible.

Nobody wants to "parent" anymore. It's a tough, thankless job that requires a heart, a head and a spine. And sometimes parents have to forego their own wants for the sake of their children. "You mean THAT'S part of the job too?"
