Here's something you can do without a study. Program all the stoplights on Broadway to turn green/red at the same time. Its pretty dumb when The Broadway/Burdick intersection turns green and then the 2nd Ave Sw light turns red. Look at closing off left turns from Northbound Broadway to the Post Office (accident waiting to happen). Widen the west bypass to 4 lanes (2 in each direction), this should also be done for the new East bypass. Remove the stoplights at the Broadway/Hwy 2 overpass and put a full cloverleaf in for on/off ramps. Look at closing left rturns to Menards from Broadway, access can be made from the light at 28th Ave Sw

I believe you meant Southbound Broadway. If you were traveling northbound you would be making a right turn to the post office. Also, the traffic light is on 31st Ave SW. 28th Ave SW is the road that you currently turn onto from broadway that you want closed. If they were going to make the bypasses 4 lanes, might as well make if 5 so they have a middle lane to make turns without slowing down 55mph traffic.

You are correct sir, thank you. And a center lane might work, could be problematic though. Maybe just turn lanes, like the one at 21st Ave on the bypass.

Big cities stagger the work hours of the major employers so they are not all getting to work and leaving work all at the same time. It's only bad in the morning, noon and after everybody gets off work so it is mostly just work related people who make up most of the traffic, it's not like there is some major tourist attraction drawing thousands of people a day into conjested traffic...lol!!
