This is leftwing's spouse commenting this time: I highly doubt that this case has anything to do with the likes of Sandusky (maybe Sandusky's horrible skills--aka crimes-- were learned from priests).
Rumor has it this directive came from the Bishop. All one has to do is look at the timeline... "Certain special" kids are benched Tuesday night. Minot Ryan loses for the first time ever to Our Redeemer's Tuesday night. By Thursday night, Athletic Director/Coach Medalen is out of a job! Are you kidding?
I believe Scott is a good man. Couldn't this have been handled better? When my spouse heard it came down from the Bishop, my spouse, being Catholic, said it was probably some fisheater's parents that got to the Bishop since their little Johnny probably got benched.
All I know is this...out of the three basketball camps available in the Magic City, our daughter probably learned the most at Ryan's basketball camp directed by Coach Medalen. Good luck, Scott, and thank you.

I believe that this decision is ridiculous, and was made on poor taste. I wish the best to Scott and his family.

Like the Professional sports. No team, fire the coach.

Let the rumors start flying.Lost all respect for voiles.Did he discipline the players for a valid reason or are the parents trying to prove who runs the show.I'm sure coach Medalen will fine another coaching job,Probably at a lot better pay.
