I find the outrage and shock by folks that we won't have Saturday postal service a real hoot. I'm fairly young (35) but still remember when we didn't have Saturday delivery and am pretty sure that the world kept on turning. I can understand the impact to older individuals in small towns, but if our society insists on keeping this antiquated institution around (the USPS) then sacrifices will have to be made as the Postal service has never been a profitable organization. I am pretty sure if everyone kept track of what you receive in a week, only 10-15% of it is actually stuff you want/need. The way it is in Minot right now I don't get any mail on Monday (probably because of short staff) so what's the big deal?

I kind of thought this affects the daily papers and advertisements the most. It will somewhat lessen the cost of advertising by paying for less exposure which will in turn cause need to raise rates of newspapers and such. Yayyyy I Got Mail!!!! Yayyyyy!!!
