Costs of employment aren't limited to salary alone, dvalley. Add health insurance, dental, retirement, etc. plus the overhead associated with the position itself (building space, office furniture, utility expenses, etc.). The true cost of adding an employee is probably 2 to 3 times salary. Mistake by the council to not add the finance position.

just doing quick math with 2.26M for 31.5 jobs comes out to an average salary of over 71K. i am in the wrong profession.
