If men were able to get pregnant...There would be NO QUESTION about abortions....All these old white men are SOOOO "concerned" about the female anatomy, and regulating them then the guns....How about we start to question their judgement on E.D. meds!! Start FORCING them to have unnecessary probes and making them pay for it before they get the "blue pill"

From Mr. Moen's letter: "I'm sure these (aborted) babies would have increased our population and work force by over 100 million providing who knows how many jobs and tax dollars to the country. Instead the president wants to legalize 11 million criminals by making them citizens, which would have been unnecessary if we hadn't killed all the babies that would have been doing all the work these illegals are doing."

icart, there's the quote you referenced. The word "criminals" is used because there are people who are in this country illegally, according to immigration laws on the books. "Illegal" implies criminal behavior, like possession of illegal drugs or illegal animal poaching.

Right now, legislation is being considered to deal with both legal and illegal immigration. I've said here before that immigration laws should be enforced or done away with. They shouldn't be written to be scoffed at, by any elected official.

In all fairness, then-Candidate Obama made a trip to Fargo, July 3, 2008.

"The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion dollars for the first 42 presidents -- number 43 added $4 trillion dollars by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion dollars of debt that we are going to have to pay back -- $30,000 for every man, woman and child," Obama said on July 3, 2008, at a campaign event in Fargo, N.D.

"That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic," said candidate Obama."

OK. So, what difference does that make?

A crisis of confidence?

Let's do a gun nut witch-hunt.

You do realize that it was legal to hunt gypsies in Europe?

In the year 1637:

"The first anti-Gypsy law in Sweden is enacted. All Roma should be expelled from the country within one year. If any Gypsy (Roma) are found in Sweden after that date the men will be hanged and the women and children will be driven out from the country. This evolved into the gentlemen sport of Gypsy-hunting throughout Europe."

And in 1646:

"An ordinance passed in Berne gives anyone the right 'personally to kill or liquidate by bastinado or firearms' Roma or Heiden (heathen) malefactors."

Good thing we're civilized and not such barbaric cads like those Europeans.

Mr. Moen seems to suffer some type of paranoia that the federal gov't is going to take away his bible & his weapons.

Lenin pointed out: “The task of the Bolsheviks is to overthrow the Imperialist Government. But this government rests upon the support of the Social Revolutionaries and Mensheviks, who in turn are supported by the trustfulness of the masses of the people. We are in the minority. In these circumstances there can be no talk of violence on our side.” The essence of Lenin’s speeches during this period was “They have the guns and therefore we are for peace and for reformation through the ballot. When we have the guns then it will be through the bullet.” And it was.

– Saul Alinsky, “Rules for Radicals,” page 37

I think this fits here too

subman, great post.

abcnews, Matt Negrin, 1/2012

"Alinsky, a Jewish Univ. of Chicago graduate who embedded himself with the Al Capone gang as a form of real-life study for his criminology degree — he told Playboy he befriended the mob’s top executioner by showing interest in a story about a “broad” in Detroit — eventually modeled his theory of confronting elected officials off labor unions’ methods. Though he had been dead long before Obama came to Chicago, his effect lingered: Gregory Galluzzo, one of Obama’s teachers, told Lizza of his respect for Alinsky, “I regard myself as St. Paul who never met Jesus.”

"It is clear that Obama and Alinsky shared a passion for organizing, if they differed on the means. In his essay, Obama wrote that "organizing teaches as nothing else does the beauty and strength of everyday people."

We've all heard the phrase "Chicago-style politics."

Was Saul Alinsky part of the history of the phrase, as well as Capone?

Or am I missing the boat as to why this phrase evolved in the first place?

I know people of many faiths, and even a few atheists, who are upstanding members of society. I also know Christians who talk the talk all day long but don't walk the talk. Believing that every problem arises from allowing people to be something other than Christian is naive at best.

Freedom comes with responsibility, and problems come when free people fail to honor that responsibilty. Christian teachings offer valuable moral lessons to live by, but that is not the only source of those values. Any set of values or morals is only as valuable as the choice to live by them.

News & Views American Pride Obama Isn’t Taking Away Your Guns, But He Will Do These 7 Things Posted by Adriana Velezon January 16, 2013 at 6:04 PM .For the last time, President Obama is NOT taking away your guns. Simmer down, now! Let's come back down to Earth. (Oh who am I kidding -- I'll probably have to say it again and again.) Today the president introduced his plan to reduce gun violence. It's a set of proposed laws Congress could pass, if it can muster the cojones and valor, and a set of executive actions he could take.

Strangely enough, I did not see "revoke the second amendment" on either list!

Shocking, right? The way some people talk, you woulda thought that would be at the top of his agenda. But nope, it's a set of MODERATE proposals. And he's not even promising to do everything on the list. Some of the items don't even contain the word "gun" or "firearm." So let's see what's really there. . Nominate an ATF director. There hasn't been a director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives since 2006. Obama will nominate B. Todd Jones to the post. Require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations. Kind of a no-brainer. Start a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign. OMG, so we can still haz guns? YES, but he'd like us to talk more about responsibility and safety. Direct the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to research gun violence. Obama is also calling on Congress to approve funding for this research. There's been a freeze on CDC research on gun violence for 17 years. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act doesn't prohibit doctors from talking with their patients about gun safety. The NRA inserted a provision in the law that says doctors don't have to do this; Obama is clarifying that it's not prohibited, either. Improve the federal background checks system. There are several items addressing this,

Improve the federal background checks system. There are several items addressing this, like incentives for states to share information, requiring federal agencies to make relevant information available, and giving law enforcement authorities the ability to run a full background check on a person before returning a seized gun. Provide law enforcement authorities, first responders, and school officials with proper training for armed attacks situations. Needless to say, I don't think Obama envisions this training quite the same way the NRA does.

Since Obama has already targeted and killed 3 Americans in Yemen, the Drone Crisis is with us now.

How come Obama can call drone strikes to kill people, even Americans, but wants to have gun control?

Guns for me, but not for thee says Obama.
