Worried, Not sure where you found your numbers but I suspect it was from a media press release from the Brady bill camp dated dec 30, 1999. If that is true your numbers of 1.4 million since 1960 is incorrect. It is estimated 1.4 million since 1933. Seems funny to me that they estimate the numbers high to support their cause. Howevery there is no increased estimate for the Civil War where very few records were kept. I find this all release suspicious.

I believe an AR15 was used in Aurora was it not? However it is not just the weapons used, it is how they get them. The firing capacity and the lack of control we seem to have in keeping these legally purchased firearms out of the hands of people that shouldn't have them.

I don't feel the big question was asked at the Senate hearing just held on gun controls. Asking if an Assault Rifle WAS used at the recent school shooting. Especially to the head of the chiefs of police.

There is so much out there saying it was not used, and if we are going to move forword on gun bans, we DO need to know that it was used. Even if it wasn't. What difference does it make if a few fibs are told? What difference does it make?

When seconds count and the cops are minutes away why should we let somebody kill or rob us? I was told by a well respected Sheriff it's better to watch football in jail then to not watch football at all. Although in an ideal society we shouldn't have to be prepared to defend ourselves but obviously this is not an ideal society.

Geez subman is it a democratic society in a Republic, how can that work? Oh maybe it doesn't! But you are correct and it is both, A republic is a form of government in which the country is considered a "public matter" (Latin: res publica), not the private concern or property of the rulers, and where offices of state are subsequently directly or indirectly elected or appointed rather than inherited. And, Democracy is a form of government in which all eligible citizens have an equal say in the decisions that affect their lives. Democracy allows eligible citizens to participate equally—either directly or through elected representatives—in the proposal, development, and creation of laws. Thank you.

Democracy is most often built and maintained with the use of guns. Although some of the new Democracies that are blossoming around the world are quite ragged at the edges the people who are creating those Democracies could not do that with out guns just as we did is 1776. Maintaining Our Democracy is up to the People. There will always be those who are willing to fight and die if need be and the biggest thank you goes to them, Respect. There will also always be those who are not willing to fight and die if need be and a thank you also goes to them for searching for a better way to end the conflict if possible, Insight. The guns used in these life wrenching decisions suddenly diminish in importance to the decisions themselves made by the humans involved in the traumatic occasions guns are used. Thank you.

The first time I made reference on the MDN site that an AR was not used, many of those of my Democrat Party got emotional....as we do....and sent many "abuse" notices to the MDN. Now we are finding out....if we look and search....that there ARE many reports of that out there. You just would not know, if you listen to what politicians and the voices of my MSM are telling us.

I feel we must all come together to know what the real truth is...and then still fight to move my Democrat Party forword by taking ALL guns from the people. The people just don't know what's best for them, I feel...
