The Keystone pipeline, has absolutely no benefit to the US other than the actual cost to build it. All of that oil is already bought and paid for by China. They do need our Bakken oil to dilute their sludge crude enough to actually be able to shove it down a pipeline. Of course, that ruins the value of our sweet crude and the penalty will be substantial. They should just build their own pipeline over the mountains to the Pacific Ocean and be done with it.

And...I like the way the MDN doesn't even have the courtesy to call Barack Obama by his deserved title, "President". What a joke of a newspaper. How's that declining paper sales going for you, you lying right wing propaganda machine?

There are thousands of miles of pipelines crisscrossing the entire continent. Keystone XL can go to the back burner.
The dog ate his homework.
The Minot Daily is right on track, again.
The time to expose Obama is now. How can you be so naive?
Warren Buffet owns the BNSF. The Burlington Northern hauls oil from the Bakken. If Bakken oil wasn't in high demand, the BNSF wouldn't be hauling it. Refineries want Bakken oil.
The financial world can delay the Keystone XL because profits are on the line.
For you see, Obama has his reasons for his decision making policies. The number one reason is to protect financial interests of TPTB.
Jobs can wait.

No benefit? Now I know we who live here in ND are a bit immune to the national unemployment rate but other states this pipe line will run through would benefit Jobs Jobs Jobs not to mention ptpeline right of way permanent maintenance jobs it is only positive results to approve it unless you would rather keep the people on Government assitance which obama seems to like and no I didnot call him pres because I didnot vote for him. yes he is running out of excuses but he will likely come up with sme more to appease you ProgessiveLiberals

I really like the singular perspective Republicans have on this issue.....JOBS... From the Canadian view it's about money and honoring promises made to the Chinese...From the Chinese view it's about securing the energy it needs to fuel it's economic engine and becoming the Economic Superpower it aims to be... In the old days it would have been viewed equally to giving our enemy the means to beat us in battle...

ProgLib is right about addressing the president as: President Barack Obama, President Obama, or Mr. President.
I've abbreviated before (Pres. Obama), but it isn't right not to include his title, that of President.

You can't discuss the Keystone project without slamming into the JOBS issue, up close and personal.
Is Keystone the 2013 version of the CCC? If so, wouldn't FDR have done it in a heartbeat?
So Canadian and Chinese interests now trump US interests? We've borrowed money from China. A lot. Wasn't that a compromise to us somehow?
If oil is a way to help us pay off our debt, we've got plenty of oil. I'd rather have our country owing less than owing more.
And oil independence is a valid objective, if that could be figured in as well.

Is this pipeline paid for with tax dollars?

“Obama is out of excuses” as the headline suggests. Oh really, his entire career has been built around excuses and he will hold this up as long as it suits his political needs. He will play this ‘trump card’ to gain control in say, green energy. Same old song, different day. And Garrfunkel says we have run out of excuses.

"A pipeline made in India that has a history of failing time and time again? Dirty sand oil that is the equivalent of 80 grit sand paper? A pipeline path over a 7 state aquifer? A net job gain of 20 employees?"
So the (highly vaunted & rarely seen nowadays) bipartisan support of members of Congress, support from both ND Senators Heitkamp & Hoeven, support from many others experienced in pipeline development and construction, and support from many people just looking for good jobs are all trumped by this list?
Who exactly put forth this list, BillGarr? Is it your own? Or will you cite your source?
Energy development should and can be done responsibly. We've been proving it in ND for decades (Gov. Art Link gets thumbs up). Come on into the 21st century, BG, and learn how it is.

Interesting letter by Ron Carlson in the Bis Trib today asking Sen Hoeven, Heitkamp & Con Kramer to come clean on the national deficit. We hope four a better understanding of the issue and most importantly wondering if there is something to hope four the future of this country. Well, I too have been hoping four a better explanation of Keystone Project so that I can better understand why we should hope four this thing to pass. Simple questions like where will this refined product go to and should we hope four better energy independence as a result of this? I really don't know why we don't have a civilian commision asking these types of questions where politicians will be on record defining why we must move forword on this and many other energy ideas geared toward giving Americans something to hope four.

We know very well how the purveyors of hate work around here by now Loco. They have no other way of attacking Ron Carlson but threw me. I am not now or ever was him and unlike the left, I do not lie. Even to them for that matter in my dialogue here. I will be glad to deflect the lies and distortions with only the truth.

"I think the word "hate" is now the most over-used in the English language."
Looks like someone didn't get your memo loco...And on that not getting it thingy....I believe we can all come together on the idea that our local politicians will be honest and forthcoming on all issues like the debt and Keystone Project as we seek full disclosure and hope four change in the way DC operates in moving this country forword.

Veritas, surely you're not bringing out that old multiple personality thingy again, are you?
It's been run (just for PJ) through the wringer so many times, there's just no more washings left.
Before it completely comes apart at the seams, you should retire it to the rag bag.
RIP, DID.

Democrat Candidate for President, Barack Obama, Sept. 2008
"I can make a firm pledge, under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."
Yeah, right. Item 1: Payroll taxes went back up 2% this January, in spite of that pledge or any other pledges made.
I don't believe just any Republican, and I don't believe just any Democrat either.
Proof's in the pudding. Actions, not words.
