Normal economics, demand brings prices down but in Minot, it is all greed so the theory doesn't work here.

Maybe the supply of diesel is the problem?

Has anyone heard reports on just how much diesel is available? Wasn't there a bit of a shortage in NWND last winter? Because of the high demand, are the suppliers continuing to play catchup? I'm just asking, I don't know...

Sorry WA, I guess I could just vote blue, go on the "system" and not worry about fuel prices because I get housing and heating assistance, day care, food stamps, etc. Those of us that have to PAY for everything have a legitimate concern.

Well, don't jump for joy just yet. The market always seems to rule. The Chicago Board of Trade today had crude settling around $95 a barrel and it has been rising of late. Take about 10-14 days for price correction to occur.

The only credit I would give Obama is in his attempt to over regulate the industry and that goes for his oppositon of the XL pipeline. Gas prices should be much lower if he would just get out of the way!

That is economics 101 supply dictates the price! 73Hockey you must have sleeped through economics class huh? h4c yes the market regulates the price along with that is the availability to supply enough fuel to keep up with the demand! Colder weather also plays a factor!

WA you must have "slept" through English class, that's okay though as you would rather speak Spanish anyway. As for Economics, demand LOWERS prices, otherwise your laptop would be $10,000 dollars by now. Markets drive fuel and local ditributors adjust from there, which is exactly WHY we pay more than Fargo and Bismarck.

Gas prices in SW USA are down to $2.36 a gallon, these prices here are ridiculous! It’s sad to see our gas prices are controlled by people like starchy slimyskin! We need a Fyling J in Minot, were the prices are controlled by the compnay and not a monopoly.
