A new maintenance facility for the North Dakota National Guard will be completed this year in Minot, said Maj. Steve Johnson, officer in charge of the 164th Engineer Battalion of the N.D. Army National Guard in Minot.
An $11.9 million facility, it will be the largest field maintenance shop for the National Guard in North Dakota.
Work began on the facility in 2006 south of the Armed Forces Reserve Center. The reserve center is north of the Minot International Airport.
Contractors working on the facility include Mattson Construction Co., Minot, general contractor; Earthmovers Inc., Minot, civil contractor; Mowbray & Son Plumbing & Heating, Inc., Minot, mechanical contractor; and Main Electric Construction, Inc., Minot. electrical contractor.
Anderson, Wade & Whitty, Minot, was the architectural firm for the project.
