FISHING
UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS: Saturday: Lake Audubon; Missouri River, Graner’s Bottom; Devils Lake, Six-Mile Bay.
N.D. Game & Fish Dept. District Game Wardens: Not much activity on small northwestern lakes. Northgate Dam boat ramp is marginal. Use caution. Devils Lake generally slow although some northern pike activity along N.D. Highway 19 on Mauvais Coulee. Missouri River continues producing walleye.
Beulah, Dakota Waters Resort, Lake Sakakawea: Resort now open but limited activity yet.
Bismarck, Dakota Tackle, Missouri River / Area Lakes: Most activity remains on Missouri River. Try light jigs drifting or anchoring. Also try shore-fishing. Not many reports from area lakes although try Alkaline Lake for walleye and northern pike. Water temperatures remain cool.
Pheasants sitting pretty
One unmistakable color of spring in North Dakota is the red cheeks of rooster pheasants. And, if appearances this spring mean anything, it bodes well for pheasant numbers in virtually all regions of the state.
